Even before Barack Obama won the presidency, guessing was rampant over who he’d pick to head up the Treasury Department.

Topping the list is New York Federal Reserve Bank president Timothy Geithner, a protégé of Clinton-era Treasury Secretary and Obama campaign adviser Robert Rubin, who’s been at the epicenter of the Wall Street melt-down.
