User ID: 516342 United States 11/13/2008 10:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You know whats really interesting about LSD, it dosent make you hallucinate. A hallusination is seeing something that isnt there. What LSD actually does is act as a breaker or the reducing valve called your brain. Quoting: ParadigmAt any givin moment your brain processes over 100 billion bits of information about your environment and your body, but our consciousness is only aware of only several thousand bits of information. That means that the reality that we experience in our consciousness is only a sliver of the total possible percieved reality What LSD does is open that valve so that our consciousness can percieve more of what reality actually exists Hallucinogens don't make you hallucinate, dissasociatives do. Mushrooms, DMT, LSD, and others only remove certain veils which allow you access to higher levels of information which, depending on how you react or interpret, will visualize in your perception for benefit or opposite. And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. |

Quoting: ParadigmYou must have a strong will and heart to do those drugs and not lose it. It helps to properly prepare aswell You can already perceive it, just depends on how open your eye is. Also, it does take a strong will and heart, but also the wisdom to take them for the right reasons. Many people take them to have a good time or party, and not expect to have to do any work on themselves. Mushrooms and LSD are tools. You can build a house with a hammer, or you can bash your own head in. It is all in how you choose to use the tools at your disposal. Many of the most eye opening, insight giving, personal healing trips I have ever had most would consider a "bad trip". I prefer to call them difficult. It's not so much the hallucinogen you are fighting, it is only yourself. The hallucinogens just open your mind to yourself. One can sieze it, or one can flee in terror. And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. |

Agree 99%, the only thing i dont agree with is the first comment. We may be built to see more of reality but in the vast majority of ppl, they cannot percieve reality beyond what most see in a sober state. Thats because of the way our brains are made. It is possible to see more of reality with the use of tools such as LSD and Mush. but not sober Swimming in a sea of fractals |

These aren't 'residual effects' either. Sober, one can see the same thing, easily, if only they know what to look for. Hallucinogens give you the opportunity to learn at an accelerated pace. . As my friend put it, 10 years of meditating, soul searching, spiritual practice, and living life all summed up into one 8 hour experience. What you learn, and what you experience, depends on what you expect to get out of it, your spiritual background, and your reasons for taking the medicine. And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. |

Same with me, my perception has changed since i used them, but the reason i think, that our perception has been 'inhanced' is because we experienced more of reality. For a person that has never done it, the chances of seeing more of what reality is, is quite slim. Swimming in a sea of fractals |

My friend who I quoted in my last post before this one (about 10 years compacted into one night session) has been practicing shamanism for 20 years, give or take. He took a hallucinogen for the first time about 10 years through his practice, and it filled in a lot of blanks for him. A person who had practiced shamanism for.. 50 years may not learn anything at all. However, another person without the same background taking the same substance, would not arrive at the same conclusions. Also, a person looking to party on LSD will not arrive at the same conclusions that someone looking to do work on their inner self would. However, there are many people who can surpass much of what LSD has to offer. I was reading this interesting article somewhere on the internet a while back about this monk in Nepal or otherwhere in the region who took LSD. They did a lot of comparisons between what LSD offers and different states of meditation. Very interesting stuff, I wish I could find the article again. And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. |

Thats basically all i was saying, that for the average person to beable to see more of what reality actually is would be near impossible without some sort of external tool to help them see internally, thus change their outward perception Swimming in a sea of fractals |
