Finally you get to go home, get in bed, close your eyes and immediately you wake up and realize... that the whole day at work had been a dream. It's bad enough that you sell your waking life for minimum wage, but now they get your dreams for free. The worst mistake that you can make is to think you're alive when really you're asleep in life's waiting room. |

Or do you intend on persisting through events to witness historical moments taking place before your mortal eyes? Quoting: Dissilusioned_Human 557198I'm generally not prepared to get up in the morning, so when the poo flies I intend to run around like a headless chook. I'll probably try to plead for my life. All in all I'm looking down the barrel at a pitiful and pathetic ending to the entity known as Irdooomed! Unlike many woowoos here, I can't hide and trying to outlast the calamity isn't an option unless they let you. Also I won't get the option of being allowed to run, I'm so scroomed. Will you join a resistance? Will you fight along your fellow mortal beings as opposed to caving in to the illusion of divide and conquer? Quoting: Dissilusioned_Human 557198Joining a resistance sounds like a good idea for most woowoos, but any resistance will be mainly acting as insurgents, not unlike Iraq. I wish for the members of GLP to convey your thoughts to me, please. I am aware this is a charged climate; there are many spiteful individuals here. Far from me writing a dissertation regarding the state of affairs of our country (United States of America) and the planet at large, as mankind we are about to be embroiled in a sequence of events that will forever alter mankind. So much the better, I suppose. Quoting: Dissilusioned_Human 557198In the wake of the aforementioned sequence of events, many of us will certainly come to our demise, be it a swift death, or agenizing torture. As a former academic, you must seek out truth and follow the evidence where it leads you - despite kicking and screaming while on route. I have kicked and screamed. I no longer research many subject matters for the sole reason the totality and scope of events to transpire are easily decipherable for the few that remain unfazed by social engineering, propaganda, and occult manipulation/deceit. I believe with 90% certainty that death is not the end of our true consciousness. If I am wrong then there is nothing. Take your dogma and shove it! Life is not about what happens to you, it's about how you deal with it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 568644 United States 12/16/2008 02:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You ask: “Are you genuinely prepared to meet your demise? Or do you intend on persisting through events to witness historical moments taking place before your mortal eyes?” Quoting: The Professor 385883And I say yes to both parts of your question. I am ready for the inevitable moment of death. However, I am not suicidal and want to live as long as possible. I am hoping that I am able to witness certain historical moments, such as contact with extraterrestrials and confirmation of Planet X, a subject I have studied for many, many years. Further, as a true survivalists, able to live completely off the land, I want to be around to help others, especially my wife and daughter, when TSHTF. You also ask: “Will you join a resistance? Will you fight along your fellow mortal beings as opposed to caving in to the illusion of divide and conquer?” I will readily put my life at risk for the right cause. However, I believe to the depth of my soul that loyalty should never be to one’s country, but only to one’s sense of what is truly righteous and worthwhile. I would rather die fighting for the right cause than to live knowing that I did not. Finally, while others merely believe in “life after death,” I know this to be the case. I have resolved this most important issue not with pure philosophical contemplation, but with logic, mathematics and science. It only took me about fifty years to get to that point. I have placed death in proper perspective, and I have not the slightest fear of it, although I do not actively seek it. There is no incongruity between being prepared to die and wanting to live. Those who ask Christians “why is it that everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die” just don’t get the full picture. It’s all about making the most of what you have been given, no matter where you are. It’s about defining who you are while you have the chance to do so. I elect to go to my God as a man who has lived a good life and fought the good fight, not as a quitter or a coward. You asked some very good questions. I hope that the responses you get will be beneficial. I'm in awe of you. I too am prepared for death, but do not seek it. When the going gets rough, I'll try my best not to give up easily. That's my prayer, but do my best for those I love and care about. |

I'm good whenever He says. Until then, what more can or should we do than stand for what matters most, and that is not the brief, fleeting and temporal here and now, but the eternal. |

User ID: 577407 United Kingdom 12/22/2008 04:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow! A tremendous array of resposes to a simple inquiry. None of us has ever died before. How many of you have witnessed the death of a human? One moment there, the next, gone. In that moment, I believe, we all feel the same thing. Freedom, and then, who WAS I? This may be worse for some than life itself; to realize who you were. Were you an asshole? Were you a cool person? Well, im sure that determines the nature of ones feelings towards death. I have been both an asshole, and a cool person. I have no idea what I'll feel like when SHTF. For a long time, nothing has moved me, everything seems to be happening as predicted, as it is predictable. My children keep things wonderful for me. key word here is WONDER. That is all I look forward to everyday is their laughter, and random childhood antics. I have means to protect them and my keep. But I don't know what I'll do. I am not ready to watch them perish. I just don't know what is going to happen. So, I have wrapped myself in a state of vigilance, caution, and awareness. I deem the reality as king over what transpires to humanity and have faith in the universal element which is indestructable, and will carry all of us into our deserved place based on wh we were. Peace and may good fortune find you. Quoting: Can't Destroy Me! 381304I have seen a few die in my nursing experience and personal experience. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 504807 United States 12/22/2008 04:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I answered that question for myself a few years ago. I was mowing the grass being overweight and my family has a bad history of heart problems. As I pushed the mower up a slight hill instantly I knew something had happened, stroke. I let go of the mower and thought to myself "this is it, I'm done". In a flash I considered the whole of my life with all of its mistakes and pains. But, just as quickly I was ok with going. Even though my life was less than ideal I knew I had done the best I knew how to do. And I had done so passionately on many occasions. I was ok with that. I walked inside and waited to die. More recently I think I had another stroke but obviously I have not died from either. I don't think at least. Some problems with the left side of my body and it makes typing a bitch but on I go. You hinted at an excellent point. What will you do when it all goes to pot. I think a great many people expect release from the hell of it all and daily life. But, anybody with some form of intelligence will know that life will get much harder and men will wish for the days we have now, back. There will be no going back. Our only path will be through the fire but it is likely we will come out cleansed. There will just be much fewer is all. A link to an NDE I just read below. This is not the only clue floating about of what is likely to come. Although a slight clue this one is. [link to www.nderf.org] |
