Re: anybody into the final fantasy series??
I was just playing final fantasy X right now and just quit when I saw this post.

I play with a quad core system at 3.6 GHZ using pcsx2 on my HDTV.

A couple examples of what the image quality looks like from my last playthrough on my PC monitor...

Final Fantasy X and Suikoden 2 are my favorite RPGs. I just finished the Thunder Plains right now and am at the entrance to macalania woods.

Love the "save the world" storylines not to mention the characters in FFX are unforgettable, and Suikoden 2 for that matter.

Playing it in high res on a 1080p TV.. priceless. This kind of stuff is why I'm single, LOL. Screw the women who think the "real world" is more important. chuckle

Final Fantasy 3, (Final Fantasy 6 in Japan) was probably one of the best video games I've ever played; Right up there with Zelda: OoT, Goldeneye, Half Life, and Chrono Trigger...

Re: anybody into the final fantasy series??
If you like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI you should try Suikoden 2.. trust me you will LOVE IT.. and I'm not one to try old school RPGs for the first time years after the fact but I gave it a try a few months back, it's gold. Easily my second favorite RPG.

There are ways to make the grind easy, too.. don't forget to push on the wall, you know where, to level up fast. Finding all the characters to fill up your castle to get the good ending is enough in itself to keep ya going, but enjoyable, not at all tedius.

I played FF1 on the NES, and it was ... well ok, but hell it was the 80's so it was 'as good as it got'. I put down the controller for a while.. years later I was a friends place and I saw FF7.

I was BLOWN away! I was into that "I remember FF, and wow it's gotten SO COOl!". That night I went out, bought me a playstation, and a copy of Final Fantasy 7.

So yes I did beat it, it took a few days, and I'd have to say it was 'worth the money'... the story was kind of far out, and at the time I thought cool, but now I see it more as some weird enviro thing... lol blowing up reactors to save the planet!.. And naturally it's funny being a 'terrorist' in the game.

Soon after I got #7, #8 came out in Japan, so I had a copy sent over, and it just wasn't the same. For the record nor was 9 & 10.

I don't know what it was about FF7, but frankly it was the BEST by far..

I just got a Playstation 3 not so long ago, I'm tempted to fire up the FF7 disks to see if it will work.... I could almost beat that thing again.

My favorites were 9, X, and XII.

I played FFXI online for about 3 years strong. Biggest time sink in my life but back then it's all I did I guess. Would never go back as it's terribly unrewarding and completely group oriented.

Love the series though and can't wait for FF13.

Re: anybody into the final fantasy series??
whoever created them games is a genius lol(in my eyes) i dont know what it s but something about them final fantasy games just totally captures me aye even(for some odd reason)the music, now i aint a fan of that type of orchestrial music but when it comes to final fantasy music theres something about it that also captures me, i only played 7 at first didnt really play the older versions but im sure they are as good as the rest, they should bring a final fantasy 10 movie out i rekon but real motion picture not a cgi, and maybe a game where they bring all the final fantasy heroes together, ive heard of one called final fantasy dissidia or something like that its on psp and it has, sqall(ff8),tidus(f10),zidane(ff9),light warrior(???),and a few of the villians from the final fantasy series too, sounds good but i heard its not rpg style its more so beat em up style....

Jenovah and Sepheroth? Or however you spell it. Was that 7?

That one was creepy. That's the only one I have played. The wife plays them all.

There is a FF7 movie out. [link to www.imdb.com]

Yep, that's 7.
The movie was kind of a disappointment for me.
My whole family played the hell out of FF7.
Best one ever.

Love it all . . . The original was so cheesy, but great fun. Best plot was 7. Three's good, eight's all right.

The Crystal Chronicles is kosher, and the recent DS games are wonderful in their own right.

Yeah, I'm a FF fan . . .
