Actor Johnny Knoxville detained with grenade at airport "JACKASS"

ACTOR Johnny Knoxville has been detained at Los Angeles airport for carrying a grenade in his luggage.
The Jackass star, well-known for carrying out dangerous stunts and pranks on his TV show, was on his way to board a flight to Miami when security scanners detected the grenade in his carry-on luggage,

The bomb squad was called in before it was determined the grenade lacked a firing pin or explosive.

A spokesperson for the airport said Knoxville told police the grenade was a film prop he forgot to take out of his bag, Associated Press reports.

He was later released and permitted to board a flight to Miami.

Authorities are deciding whether to charge the actor over the incident.
