Actually Lucifer is quite wrongly associated with the Christian Diety "The Devil" who doesn't really exist anyway excepting perhaps as a thoughtform entity created by people.

Lucifer is one the one who brought us the knowlede of good and evil and right from wrong. Animals don't know right from wrong.

Everyone plays their part in Gods creation and sometimes things are not as they seem.

Gnosticism says, the Earth is ruled by Lucifer, always has been, the way to get around it is to focus on one's own mental capacities and isolate oneself from society, like the Cathars.

This other thing says, Lucifer has ruled Earth for some time, but at one time he did not, and he will be dethroned in the future, maybe even in the near future. The way to live that well is to love your fellow man, with an emphasis on spouses, and to acquire non-hidden knowledge and learning. Lucifer's mastery is based on hiding, the right and good mastery must be open.
