Previous Story: Purple Car Sought In Abduction, Sexual Battery
Central Florida CrimeLine
ORLANDO -- A massive effort is under way as Orange County Sheriff's deputies work to the track down the men accused of abducting and raping an 11-year-old girl.

The incident happened while the girl was on her way to school near Orange Blossom Trail and Lancaster Road Thursday.

Deputies said two men approached the victim as she stepped off the bus and forced her into a car at knifepoint.

The girl said she was taken to an abandoned house, which investigators believe was on Rose Boulevard, where they raped her. She was then returned to the same spot where she was kidnapped.

Detectives said the entire sex crimes unit is working the case.

They are also stopping cars that match the general description of the car the two suspects were driving -- a purple four-door sedan that is possibly a Dodge Neon.

They are taking DNA samples from the people inside those cars. So far that has been as many as 60 cars.

Sgt. Richard Mankewich told reporters Friday that this is an intricate process.

Detectives hope the composite sketch they released of one of the suspects helps.

As far as other details, all detectives said is that the men are Hispanic.

So far, the girl has been unable to give them enough information for a sketch of the other man.

the article leaves out the most important question... what happens to the DNA samples after a person who complies with authorities and is swabbed is then eliminated from the enquiry and is innocent?

also I hope they catch the guilty and throw away the key.

If you’re ticketed by Green Bay police, you’ll get more than a fine. You’ll get fingerprinted, too. It’s a new way police are cracking down on crime....

.....Police say they want to prevent the identity theft problem that Milwaukee has, where 13 percent of all violators give a false name.

But in Green Bay, where police say they only average about five cases in a year, drivers we talked with think the new policy is extreme.

The cops can't make you give a DNA sample...but most sheeple do it because they think they have too. I'd tell them to fuck off.

Bullshite. Texas I know for sure has teams trained in forced inoculation and blood extraction. 5 jackboot thugs hold you down and 1 takes the blood, lasts about a minute. Willful consent will become a thing of the past very soon. Just ask the residents in Austin, TX.

Re: Police stop cars take DNA samples
It was just a bit disconcerting. While this is a very serious situation I don't know that taking DNA based on such a large pool of possible people is such a good idea.

I suppose it was somewhat alarming to me because I had not heard of this being done before. Not on this level. Not everyone in a certain color car etc. I could understand it if it was more specific I suppose.
