If you can't install/update/run them, your computer is owned. Trials on these are all free: [link to www.malwarebytes.org] [link to www.superantispyware.com] [link to www.kaspersky.com] (click on Kaspersky Virtus Removal Tool download) It's most likely in the browser, but could be in operating system level. You can try another browser as well: [link to www.opera.com] Pathaka |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 36677773 United States 04/14/2014 08:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The problem is that many, and I mean millions, are occasionally being redirected away from the site they are on to another offsite webpage. The redirect is usually to either a yellow pages type search results page, or another type of unwanted search results page. but i have also heard of redirects to porn search pages as well. The problem is so huge, I'm surprised that there isn't more information about it on the internet. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 609773 Is there some flaw that is so easily exploited as to literally take millions of users to other pages that is not being reported? I would have to say there is. And even with the newest and best anti-virus and anti-flowers, the problem persists. Anyone out there know the exact problem and the solution? I could tell you but then I would get banned. |

Some of these installers hijack your browser so your searches get redirected elsewhere. Also some sites offer special downloaders to access their stuff. Evade such sites like the plague. "The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |
