Got the news today that there won't be furloughs.

They don't say what they will do, however. Maybe the stimulus bill has solved all of our problems.

We waited with baited breath all last week...they laid off a number of staff where my daughter-in-law works. She made it thru to Friday thinking they were finished. They started again on Monday. She dodged that one, too. As of today, she's still got a job, which is a good thing, of course.

That's the upside. The downside is that my son's company just laid off one crew, and they are stretching his crew out (no overtime after a year of 60hr weeks) to keep them employed a little longer. They might get lucky and last about 5 more weeks.

So they say. Lots of competition to get through that new door.
