Where is a gun thread when you want one?

I had the pleasure of firing a .22 and a .45 ACP today. Never shot a pistol before, and we didn't have the best targets, orange dealies in the snow. He hit them, I didn't. Something to shoot for: aim is next on my list.

He had the pleasure of shooting my Mossberg shotgun, which he had never done before. That special ops stock ET suggested kicks ass. Now I can actually aim the gun at uninvited guests.

We went back to his place, spent an hour cleaning our weapons and now we are cookin' dinner. Actually, I am, he's out on the sled driving around in circles.

A laser can be a good training tool on a pistol. They allow you to see if you're flinching or pulling the gun off target as you squeeze the trigger. I'm not crazy about them on defensive guns though. They can get knocked out of alignment, and unless you're using the iron sights also, you'll miss. They also give the bad guy a nice bright red light to aim at.


Laser sights are not just "training tools". Many of our law enforcement have them. They are also used by our troops in Iraq and Afghanistann. Also our border patrol.

Good ones rarely get "knocked out of alignment".

they have superior numbers and weapons/training, this is not good advice for a homeowner/survivalist, nor can we afford the high end lasers, which can cost thousands of dollars, the ones they use the majority of the time require night vision to see them, adding several thousand more dollars to the deal

swat teams use daylight lasers, again, in superior numbers with submachine guns, more as a deterrent/overwhelming force application

i have several fairly high end lasers, they are great training tools, and then they get put away

High tech aiming devices are fine and dandy until TSHTF and you cant find batteries for them..Develop skills and you wont need gadgets..And tracers work both ways...

A friend has my .357 an armed robber stuck in my face and thumbed the hammer back.
Cops gave me the gun after the inquest.

He lost to a faster better aimed, S&W .22 LR semi-auto, with CCI-Mini-Mags. (had a history of killing his robbery victims to eliminate witnesses. Some cops even hugged me at the scene)

Hope everyone always underestimates me.

Getting there. Just wanted to feel her in her new glory before I posted one. The camera is having drive issues on the focus so it might take a few.

I was thinking of replicating MO's dual fisted photo if I picked up that Remington. LOL! I'd prefer a black cocktail dress. The rifle in one and the shotgun in the other.

In my current situation, buying a rifle is not a good choice. I did fondle the 7516 w/out the special ops stock. Very heavy and too long if I can't get that stock on it.

We'd probably settle for you in a black cocktail dress holding just the shotgun...sort of a Charlie's Angels look, lol.

...I consulted and have been trained by people who know their shit. I stop in monthly at my local gun shop. It's really cool because they have two women working there so I feel comfortable going in. Not sure about the little pink rifles, however.

I still have a LOT to learn. Any and every Patriot should know how to safely handle firearms, and should own at least one.

Checked into the duty to retreat here. Would love an AR15 but have to register it with the law, so I went for the most inconspicuous option.

I think that rifle has a longer barrel when it comes with the standard stock. 22" VS 16.5", That would definitely add a few ounces of weight out front.
