Strep infections, rather than the flu virus itself, may have killed most people during the 1918 influenza pandemic. This suggests that some of the most dire predictions about a potential new pandemic could be exaggerated.



Mopar28m, I must tell you that my husband, niece, daughter and myself not to mention countless neighbors all had some terrible upper respiratory infection / flu thing a few weeks back.

It took almost 2 weeks for the thing to pass, in the interim we all had very high fever breathing problems and SEVERE body aches.

I swear, I believe that if any of us were the elderly, or babies or health compromised prior to getting that bug, I really do believe it would have sent us to our grave..

Just sharing, I do love the info you gave..:-)
