you aren't out of oil..

Put on some warm clothes, eat a good meal and go for a good hike. That should kick your body into thermogenesis mode where it's burning calories for heat. Then, once you're in that mode, you can work on your furnace without getting sick or freezing your ass off.

You have to keep eating regularly to keep the thermogenesis going, b/c it burns a lot of calories.

what did you do to bleed it?
did you get an initial flame?
did it time out?

Need to know more. Is your tank outside or inside?

Does the tank have a vent tube or vent cap?

Is your tank above the level of the pump or below?

There is a lot of sludge that is normally settled at the bottom of tank. I do hope you did not let the oil run right down and have blocked the pipe by allowing shit to get in the pipe.

Its only like 5 years old... Put 200.00 worth of oil in it yesterday... on the oil tanks end oil comes out when you turn the nossel... so everything seems allright there... then when i go in the basement the oil dosent come out the other end of the hose..... Im 23 year old man and i no nothing about anything.... Just purchaced the house yesterday

you have air in the line between the tank and the burner. On the burner pump there is a bleed valve that needs to be slightly opened while you press the red reset button on the furnace....once oil starts coming out of that bleed valve, close it fast and your furnace will fire

if thats too complicated

call a service company and have a new filter and service on the boiler done...peace of mind

Is there a shut off switch on the wall somewhere? Look around, it usually has a red plate and looks like a light switch. Try the top of the basement stairs.

Leave it for the professionals so you don't kill yourself.
