Crew Crashes New Airbus 340-600 (largest passenger aircraft) During Ground Testing in Toulouse France - WTF?
The brand spanking new Airbus 340-600, the largest passenger airplane ever built, sat in its hangar in Toulouse , France without a single hour of airtime.
Enter the Arab flight crew of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT) to conduct pre-delivery tests on the ground, such as engine runups, prior to delivery to Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi . The ADAT crew taxied the A340-600 to the run-up area. Then they took all four engines to takeoff power with a virtually empty aircraft. Not having read the run-up manuals, they had no clue just how light an empty A340-600 really is. The takeoff warning horn was blaring away in the cockpit because they had all 4 engines at full power. The aircraft computers thought they were trying to takeoff but it had not been configured properly (flaps/slats , etc..) Then one of the ADAT crew decided to pull the circuit breaker on the Ground Proximity Sensor to silence the alarm. ; This fools the aircraft into th inking it is in the air. The computers automatically released all the brakes and set the aircraft rocketing forward. The ADAT crew had no idea that this is a safety feature so that pilots can't land with the brakes on. Not one member of the seven-man Arab crew was smart enough to throttle back the engines from their max power setting, so the $200 million brand-new aircraft crashed into a blast barrier, totaling it. The extent of injuries to the crew is unknown, for there has been a news blackout in the major media in France and elsewhere. Coverage of the story was deemed insulting to Moslem Arabs. Finally, the photos are starting to leak out.

Yes, I can see why coverage would be "deemed insulting" to Muslim Arabs. This kind of stupidity is rare. It just goes to show you why God in his infinite wisdom left these people wondering around the desert on their camels, doing little other than hating everyone and everything that was not like them for many generations while the rest of the world moved forward. This was the most their hate-driven little minds could possibly handle and God above knew this about them. That's why he allowed it! And made sure the world left them in this position for all those generations.

Sadly we (the rest of the oil using world) has inadvertently created a group of people who are incredibly wealthy beyond description, but who have their minds and their traditions deeply rooted in the 10th and 11th century when they were weaving their rugs and wondering thru the deserts and creating 'caravans' to haul goods and spiced from one side of the desert to the other.

We've now got a nation and region of rich spoiled brats with no guidance from their culture, their religion or their leaders. The 200 million is a mere pittance for these people. They will no doubt just pay it and order another airliner. The sad thing is that innocent unknowing people will climb on Saudi Air or other middle eastern run and owned airlines and find that the same level of stupidity that caused this crash is prevalent among all the Arabs in the various kingdoms and they're not going to fully come out of it for another two or three hundred years - if they don't buy some (more) nukes and accidently set those off taking themselves and their oil into oblivion in the process of trying to grow up into a real culture capable of learning and actually understanding modern technology in a way that is more than a superficial grasp of the overall concepts. Sad but true.

Then some idiot discovered oil and was stupid enough to BUY it from them and let them think the land they'd trod over for generations was actually theirs and that these indigenous arabs actually had ownership of the oil that someone else found, drilled out of the ground and then shipped off to the world markets for sale of it.

It would have been infinitely smarter to have just driven them to another part of the desert, given them a few hundred more camels and gotten the deed to the land free and clear! Then we wouldn't be dealing with camel jockeys (maybe) wrecking 200 million dollar airplanes at the testing grounds in France, today!
