Coworker came back from vaction sick appears to have flu like symptons

About a week ago at my job (A large Healthcare equipment provider) a coworker came back from Aruba which is just southeast of Mexico. However this person claimed while on vacation they were fine and when they returned to Georgia they became sick all of a sudden. Now this person has been coming to work daily and is coughing up a storm and sneezing all over the place despite the saying their doctor stated they have no flu symptoms. I suspect this is a lie!

However as a faithfully AC on Godlike Productions I decided to Google Aruba and Flu. Guess what, yep, found a case in NY where a lady returned from Aruba and is now sick with flu like symptoms. My co-workers are too busy talking about "Famous Personalities" to even bring up the question to this person. This person is a real loud mouth and is feared by most of my co-workers and is used by the management to attack employees they (mgmt)do not like.

I watched this person kiss a couple of the coworkers on the cheek and have noticed one of them is now coughing heavy and sneezing like crazy now a about a week later. Neither of them looks well either but we are about to be laid off so they could be covering to not lose any money. However the air condition in the building is set at freezing cold due to a thermostat issue (yeah I know) the timing is most odd.

My concern is no one in management is daring to approach this person at all and ask a real question directly. The joke and kid with this individual. I usually get out of the area and cover my mouth and nose with a couple of heavy duty paper towels.


Not to be a Narc but I want to call CDC on this person and have that cruise ship and Aruba researched. The odd thing is I suspect this person is a carrier now and has not really fallen to any of the symptoms as yet. I feel if this is the real thing our office will be very short people by the end of next week. Many at work are beginning to cough and sneeze alot! I could be jumping ahead of the doom on this one. I am taking mucho vitamin d, c, e, grape seed extract and watching how hard I workout (which can lower you immune system when starting up).

Is this happening at anyone else job and what do you do?
