Two people suspected of having swine flu are being held in isolation in Mecklenburg County, state health director Dr. Jeffrey Engel said Tuesday. Neither is a North Carolina resident.

One was a traveler who became ill on a flight to Mexico, “got off a plane and wasn't feeling well.” The person was sent to a local hospital, where laboratory tests are being done “to tell us what's going on,” Engel said during a news conference in Raleigh.

The second person is from Texas and was planning to return home by plane but was not allowed to board because of flu-like symptoms.

The second person also went to a hospital, but Engel did not know if they remain in the hospital.

There are others in North Carolina suspected of having the swine flu, but Engel said he will not give numbers until they are confirmed. If tests show the suspected cases actually have seasonal flu, their orders to stay isolated in their homes will be cancelled

I've posted on several threads, i find it unsettling that so many tests have been sent, but results are sketchy and slow...........not prepared for testing....or THE RESULTS?

From my understanding only the CDC can confirm the results, and I'm sure their up to their a** in alligators right now, but damn...They need to start farming this out if they can't keep up.
