AnTiSoShAL User ID: 420394 United States 05/04/2009 11:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Given that I actually WORK on Radar, I can actually speak authoritatively on this. Sorry, no UFO. Nothing to see here. This is an artifact of how modern radar data is aggregated. if you were to investigate a bot, you'd find the exact center of those rings is a primary radar site (if this was in the USA Id be able to name it with a few minutes of research). Radar is nothing more than sending out a signal and listening for its reflections. Modern composite radar takes the feeds from multiple locations and makes a whole map. Because every radar is slightly different, it takes some complicated math to normalize all the feeds so that they display the same relative intensity results across the map. These rings happen fairly often, and when they are noticed, they get fixed, thus the conspiracy junkie says "they were removed immediately". Duh. because they are a malfunction. at the outer edges of the rage of each site there is overlap with other sites. The data coming in is averaged using formulas based on previous performance of the two regions overlapping. When the dewpoint or humidity reaches an extreme in the area surrounding the center site, the signals at outer ranges can often be out of the normal range for the formulas used to create normalized data across the map. Two rings is somewhat rare, but Ive seen as many as three. In the USA these rings commonly happen on weather radar between sunset and a few hours afterwards, but strong storm fronts can precipitate them as well. usually the operator will notice them and compensate for them, and the rings dissappear. In some cases, the changing conditions will result in the rings moving outward or even inward, making it look like explosions or whatever. Its all just a part of how radar works. |

Especially the nothing to see here part. you guys seriuosly need some new phrases. Im an authority on this subject so you should respect me and my word. move along. dont waste your time, trust me. AnTiSoShAL User ID: 420394 United States 05/04/2009 02:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Okay, if you trust nobody, then stop trusting people posting idiocy about Radar calibrations as UFO's Better yet, since you've deemed someone who maintains aviation radar for a living un-trustworthy, I suggest you NEVER EVER get on another airplane again. It is unsafe. In addition to radar, I interact with almost every aspect of modern aviation, so you should probably build yourself a bunker to protect yourself from all the airplanes falling from the sky..... I have nothing to prove to you, and the fact that you discount anyone who might actually be in a position to know something you don't to protect your fantasy world indicates you weren't my audience anyway. My job will persist without you and my knowledge is not defined by your trust. For those who care learn a bit, this isn't a UFO. Keep yours eyes on the sky, however. I do believe they are there, and there will be much more information coming soon, I have reason to believe. Part of the reason believing in UFO's has no credibility is because fanatics chase every shadow and imagine a conspiracy in every box of cereal. When you manage to see the boogeyman in every aspect of daily life, sooner or later you'll convince everyone who actually interacts with daily life that you're batshit crazy, and along with that will go everything you believe in, right or wrong. Have some threshold of sanity. Its our only hope of being taken seriously and gaining the momentum we need to demand disclosure. |

I don't think that the interest in the radar rings on Kent's website was concerning UFOs, but more the fear that these electromagnetic waves were somehow hazardous to people's health, and possible evidence of weather manipulation. But, I agree with you...if you don't work out all possible normal and natural reasons for something odd you will soon be swept away by every wind of new-age fantasy and will be duped by clever beings bent on control.
