Hey boys any of you gunnies ever bust off a Tikka T3 Varmiter and if so what did ya think?

I am considering one in .308 may wanna trudge off the Remington 700 or Savage 10fp reservation and try something new.

Light will give flinches after 20 rounds. But you have pencil barrel 300 mag so shouldnt bother you. They are accurate but if you like to shoot a bunch of rounds I would buy Savage and you change barrels etc at home. It is getting harder to ship stuff from now on I will only buy AR's or Savage few hundred in tools and you dont need a gunsmith can do all your self.

Cool. Supposed to be tack drivers and they have a detachable 5 round magazine so I am looking into one.......

The T3 Tactical won the 2006 Rifle of the year award in American Rifleman but that one is a little rich for me.

Can pick up a T3 Varminter high 600's looks like a good deal.

Didnt read your second sentance. Tikka is good but stock and plastic magazines suck good trigger and barrel. There is a reasone why Savage and Remington are used by most.

Yeah the 5R's are shooters. Too rich for me it's either a Savage 10FP, A Remmy SPS Varminter or the Tikka T3 and I'll for now I'll rotate that Bushnell Elite 3200 scope off the 300 win mag........

Re: One for the gunnies-Tikka T3 Varminter
The guys at the gun store last year kept trying to get me to buy a tikka when i was looking at a ruger ranger model in .308. Im sure its not the same model as your looking at but, he showed me 3 different Tikka, They all felt very light, like a toy. The actions felt flimsy, Im used to ruger actions which are tight and solid, and remingtons which are a little loose but still feel durable. I kept telling them i didnt like them and they felt flimsy to me and they kept telling me about how they are made by Sako...Ive handled Sako rigles before, they dont compare at all in my mind. I ended up with a Browning A-bolt cause i was there when the guy came in to sell it and i got a deal.

PS. I dont really read gun magazines. But in the motocross industry...there is a direct relationship between the number of adds a manufacturer takes out and who has the (best) bike that month...Even when they dont win any races:)
