Quoting: ExileSo a vaccuum cleaner could be rigged to blow air etc. A radio could probably fairly easily be changed to be a listening device. Not so easy to believe a TV could do the reverse - a light emitting component could also detect light? A compound that when electrically excited emits photons, could produce an electrical signal when hit by photons? Would have to be a very specific construct. But anyway, with TVs we can all imagine a very tiny receiver being put into each set. I think he stated that any TV after 1995 or so is potentially also a receiver. Paranoia maybe but who cares? Fun to speculate. So if we consider this a possibility, the next question is - well how is this monitored? Is received data sent via wireless? Are there agents stationed on every corner with hand held dishes listening in on you? Ridiculous! Nah, this is the easy part. Remember the fanfare about internet over power lines a while back? Never really seemed to catch on though. Yeh there are a few providers here and there, nothing mainstream though. Which is strange don't you think? If the power grid can also be used for communication why not switch over? Get rid of the whole dedicated copper lines for communication. Rid the world of one more thing it has to maintain. [link to en.wikipedia.org] Well this is possibly why folks - because that very same grid is what is used / is going to be used to monitor everything you do. All those TVs in public places - airports, cafes, banks you name it. The CCTV is just for show. What goes to the central data base comes from the TVs and travels down the power grid. The guy also said - the TV doesn't need to be on, just plugged in. Makes sense if it's using the power grid to transmit the data. Have a peachy day! |
