I've had the thought as well; it was completely unexpected and on the eve of such a significant day.

Most didn't even know about the whole Cap & Trade bullshit.

Aside from Cap & Trade, the Ark of the Covenant was also supposed to be "unveiled" today, but that "big story" just vanished.

Apparently, Michael Jackson is worth bawling over (I'm surprised how many people I know personally actually CRIED over the news), but the REAL news can just be swept under the rug as though it never happened.
