Re: Swine flu 'explosion' coming: WHO
he global spread of swine flu will endanger more lives as it speeds up in coming months and governments must step up preparations for a swift response, the World Health Organization said Friday.

There will soon be a period of further global spread of the virus, and most countries may see swine flu cases double every three to four days for several months until peak transmission is reached, said WHO's Western Pacific director, Shin Young-soo.

"At a certain point, there will seem to be an explosion in case numbers," Shin told a symposium of health officials and experts in Beijing. "It is certain there will be more cases and more deaths."

WHO has declared the swine flu strain a pandemic, and it has killed almost 1,800 people worldwide through last week. International attention has focused on how the pandemic is progressing in southern hemisphere countries such as Australia, which are experiencing winter and their flu season.

But it is in developing countries where the accelerated spread of swine flu poses the greatest threat as it places under-equipped and underfunded health systems under severe strain, Shin said.

Governments must act quickly to educate the public, prepare their health systems to care for severe cases and protect those deemed more vulnerable to prevent unnecessary deaths, he said.

"We only have a short time period to reach the state of preparedness deemed necessary," Shin said. "Communities must be aware before a pandemic strikes as to what they can do to reduce the spread of the virus, and how to obtain early treatment of severe cases."
Some at greater risk

Pregnant women face a higher risk of complications, and the virus also has more severe effects on people with underlying medical conditions such as asthma, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune disorders and diabetes, WHO chief Margaret Chan said in a video address.

WHO earlier estimated that as many as two billion people could become infected over the next two years — nearly one-third of the world's population.

Health officials and drugmakers, meanwhile, are looking into ways to speed up production of a vaccine before the northern hemisphere enters its flu season in coming months. Estimates for when a vaccine will be available range from September to December.

WHO has stressed that most cases are mild and require no treatment, but the fear is that a rash of new infections could overwhelm hospitals and health authorities, especially in poorer countries.

The last pandemic — the Hong Kong flu of 1968 — killed about one million people. Ordinary flu kills about 250,000 to 500,000 people each year.

Swine flu is also continuing to spread during summer in the northern hemisphere. Normally, flu viruses disappear with warm weather, but swine flu is proving to be resilient.

They have claimed immunity to all governments and dominance of all governments should enough people get sick.... read their words!

So all those getting this vaccination containing the live virus will get some form of it and many will get very sick from it.... thus making the numbers WHO wants to dominate the world under the pretence of human health...

This is a huge lie... and probably will not work... thank God for human independence!

They keep saying 500,000 people die of the flu every year?

I only have one question.

Has anyone ever known anyone that has died of the flu?

OK, I lied, I have one other question.

Has anyone ever known anyone that has known anyone that has died of the flu???

With that many people that die of the flu every year, I would think that some time in my life I would have known someone that has died of the flu. But I haven't!?!?

wtf
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 750774

That's because it is generally elderly and very young and the offical diagnosis is either dehydration and/or pneumonia. People don't die of flu, they die from things caused by the flu. My grandmother had 2 friends in recent years die of pneumonia after they caught the flu. Both were in their 80's. Young healthy adults are generally don't die from the flu.

Thank you Argentina!

This is what I keep asking people - if it is so serious why aren't countries that are already in their flu season (autumn/winter) reporting devastating numbers of sick or dying?

It doesn't add up that there's all this hype about getting the vaccine because the flu is so dangerous and yet there's plenty of countries already in their flu season and life is continuing as normal.

That link is to a patent by Baxter for the METHOD of producing the vaccine to a virus not necessarily H1N1
This is a direct quote of the abstract of the patent:

The present invention provides a method for the manufacture of a preparation comprising virus antigens comprising a) inoculation of cells with infectious virus in a fluid, b) propagation of said virus in said cells, c) collecting said propagated virus, d) inactivating said collected virus, and e) treating said inactivated virus with a detergent, resulting in a preparation comprising viral antigens.

Interesting topic. I intend to begin using ionic silver water. We would all be a lot healthier for it.

Colloidal silver has been around a long time. It was used extensively in the 20th century until antibiotics became popular and relegated the use of silver in general to relative obscurity. Colloidal silver wasn't patentable; drugs were. Profits were made in selling a patented product. And some silver compounds had side effects if used improperly. They could cause argyria, a cosmetic skin condition which could cause the skin to turn a blue/gray color.
With the present day problems of bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics, colloidal silver is making a resurgence in popularity and use. One of the reasons for the renewed interest is the fact that bacteria and viruses are not resistant to contact with silver. Colloidal silver may be the magic bullet for mankind if antibiotics are no longer useful. Colloidal silver was used to cure and/or treat many diseases before being replaced with antibiotics.

What was thought to be the end of infectious diseases was accomplished in the 1940's. With the advent of penicillin, they were thought to be a problem of the past. How wrong they were!

It turned out that many bacteria were able to breed new and more powerful strains that were resistant to the "new" antibiotics over time. By the 1990's it was obvious that antibiotics were not going to take care of our infectious diseases. Some diseases which were becoming resistant were various strains of Pneumococcus, Tuberculosis and Gonorrhea to mention a few.

40,000 to 50,000 Americans will die from Streptococcus pneumoniae each year. And it's not the drug resistant strain that's doing the killing. It's the regular strain. What's going to happen when the drug resistant strain hits us? It will be worse than you can imagine. This disease can manifest in many ways. It can cause middle ear infection in children besides causing death in older persons. It's responsible for half the visits to pediatricians each year. It is the major cause of middle ear infections in children. It's also a major cause of death in older persons.

Staphylococcus aureus is another disease that is taking over the hospitals in America. There are many strains and some are drug resistant to almost all antibiotics. There is apparently only one antibiotic left that works, Vancomycin. When that one quits working, what will be left to the doctors arsenal? Not much. Another strong antibiotic is Methycillin. Staph is now becoming resistant to it and is called MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureas).

One of the real problems has been that patients ask for and sometimes get antibiotics when they aren't called for, such as for the common cold and other viral infections. This has led to the proliferation of these drug resistant strains of bacteria. Viruses don't respond to antibiotics, so prescribing them is futile and should not be done, but it is used by too many doctors. Sometimes to pacify patients, sometimes to second guess the problem. It's called the "shotgun" approach. Throw whatever you've got at the problem and maybe you'll hit the target. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. We can blame the problem on too much use of antibiotics when they are not called for.

Drug resistant strains of these, and other bacteria are becoming more commonplace. It is only a matter of time until we have diseases we cannot control.

Colloidal silver is the drug that may be our best bet for surviving these terrible diseases. It is so powerful that bacteria, viruses and even some fungi can not live in contact with colloidal silver over 6 minutes.

Colloidal silver has been used for healing for centuries. The Greeks and Romans kept liquids in silver jars. During the plagues in Europe, many royal families escaped disease because they ate off silver plates and used silver utensils. It was used by the American pioneers to keep water and milk from spoiling or becoming contaminated. It is used by NASA to purify water in the space shuttle. Russia also uses it in their space shuttle. It is used by some airlines to purify water on flights. Thin silver foil is still used in India and China to wrap portions of food in. The food and silver wrap are eaten together. Silver is used in most of the burn centers in the U.S. and has been used to prevent blindness in newborn infants eyes for many years.

Wisdom of the Ancients – Modern Medical Miracle
Silver has been used as a dependable health tool for millennia, but is now re-emerging as a modern medical savior. In ancient Greece, Rome, Phoenicia and Macedonia, silver was used extensively to control infections and spoilage. The "Father of Medicine," Hippocrates, was impressed with silver too. He taught that silver healed wounds and controlled disease. In 69 B.C. silver nitrate was listed in a contemporary pharmacopoeia as an anti-microbial tool.3 A few thousand years later (1897) doctors in America began using silver nitrate to prevent blindness in newborns. In many states, it is still used for this purpose.

A Superior Anti-Infective Agent,

In America, from 1900 to 1942, silver became our most important weapon against infection. According to the American Medical Association there were over 96 different silver medicines in use. In those early years, silver was primarily used to combat bacteria, but we would learn a few decades later that it was also highly effective against infectious fungi, viruses7 and select parasites.

In 1942, antibiotics were invented and created a sensation. In certain ways the new antibiotics were more effective than the silver drugs then in use. They also were cheaper. Antibiotics were proclaimed miracle drugs, while silver fell into disuse.

Silver Fights Germ Resistance

But several decades later, the medical world discovered that there were three critical consequences to antibiotics: (1) they could not control viruses such as HIV, (2) overuse could lead to intestinal yeast overgrowth, and (3) imprudent antibiotic use created "super germs" that defied all antibiotics.

In 1992, according to Newsweek, 13,000 hospital patients died from drug resistant infections. A year later, this figure leaped to 70,000. This was indeed, scary news. In 1994, the Center for Disease Control viewed this problem as America's number one health issue.

Fortunately, researchers were working on the next-generation of silver nutraceuticals, which were intriguing some of the best minds within the medical community.

Dr. Harry Margraf of St Louis stated that, "Silver is the best all around germ-fighter we have."

Jim Powell, a medical writer for Science Digest, reported that while a typical antibiotic cannot kill more than seven germs, next-generation silver formulations could conquer up to 650. So far, no germs have proved resistant to silver. Scientists Zhao and Stevens agreed with this good news, "With the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, silver is re-emerging as a modern medicine because all pathogenic organisms have failed to develop an immunity to it."

Silver Shown To Check Cancer

Today's best Ionic silver products are inexpensive, safe and extraordinarily effective as a dietary supplement. For example, at 10 particles per million (ppm) silver formulations have demonstrated the ability to unravel and check rogue cancer cells in the test tube. Public reports from seven top universities, such as Medical College of Ohio and Tulane, all confirmed silver's powerful counter effects against human lymphoma cells, melanoma, breast and prostate carcinoma, and even osteosarcoma cells. Of course this exciting research will require real life studies before its benefits can be completely determined.

Silver and Regeneration

Scientists have found that regeneration in humans occurs chiefly in the liver, spleen and bone tissues. However, recent medical research suggests that silver could regenerate other human tissues as well. The renowned medical authority on regeneration, Dr. Robert Becker in his book Body Electric, states that we have only scratched the surface regarding silver's medicinal brilliance. Throughout his many publications his work suggests that our diet needs silver for optimal health and repair. Adding Ionic silver to our diet may be one major key to thwarting the effects of aging. Silver overcomes the main obstacles to mammalian regeneration in the following ways: (1) it destroys infections that block self-healing, (2) at the same time, silver activates and directs dormant stems cells to begin their marvelous feats of regeneration!

Next Generation Silver Nutraceuticals: When Less Means More

Crude colloidal silver has been around since the 1900's, but it contained large silver particles, proteins, silver salts or excessive (even risky) amounts of silver. Until recently, the most powerful silver-based germ killer on the market was silver nitrate. But due to its caustic nature it could only be used in limited ways. This was particularly frustrating when chronic and stubborn infections were present.

The best state-of-the-art silver is Ionic Silver. It is ultra-pure, contains no caustic salts, and is free of contaminants. Today we know that the purest, smallest silver particles are extremely effective against stubborn and ingrained infections. The extraordinarily tiny particles in Ionic Silver average concentration of 100 parts per million (100 ppm).

The price of silver has changed dramatically. In 1920, one ounce of colloidal silver cost up to $100. Eighty years later Ionic Silver Water costs less than $1.00 per ounce. In terms of quality and price this makes Ionic Silver water the best buy in the industry.

Guidelines for Prudent Dietary Silver Intake

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the average adult can consume 350 mcg of silver daily for up to 70 years without any known risk, or take the equivalent dose of seven teaspoons of Ionic Silver daily. For more serious or persistent problems, a doctor may wish to gradually increase dosages and direct their patients to take from 3 to 7 tablespoons daily. An average adult under medical supervision could in principle take such dosages for up to 65 years with no definable risk! Ionic Silver water performs best when taken on an empty stomach, followed by food 25 minutes later.

Should people who are healthy and just want to remain that way consider supplementing with Ionic Silver water? And if so, "What is a prudent and adequate daily intake for dietary silver?" The daily value (DV) for silver has not been determined; it is not considered an essential mineral. However, for many years selenium was not considered essential, yet its many benefits begged the same question. When no DV amount has yet been determined, it is customary for scientists to look at the typical diet content for the mineral. Past studies have pointed out that average diets contain from 23 mcg to 88 mcg of silver daily. However, modern trends in agriculture have revealed an alarming decline in the mineral content of our foods since the1930's. From Senate Document No. 264 (1936) it states, "The alarming fact is that foods (fruits, vegetables and grains) now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contain enough of certain minerals are starving us - no matter how much of them we eat. No man of today can eat enough fruits and vegetables to supply his system with the minerals he requires for perfect health because his stomach isn't big enough to hold them. The truth is that our foods vary enormously in value, and some of them aren't worth eating as food…Our physical well being is more directly dependent upon the minerals we take into our systems than upon calories or vitamins or upon the precise proportions of starch, protein or carbohydrates we consume."

In fact, up to 80% of the mineral content in our foods has been lost since the early part of the last century. Thus, our diet may be providing much less than 88 mcg silver daily. So what are reasonable guidelines for silver as a dietary supplement?

First, up to seven teaspoons daily may be safely taken for extended periods when immune support for bacterial, viral or fungal treatment is needed or desired.
Second, adjust for weight in younger adults and children as appropriate, typically one half the adult dose.
Third, one teaspoon but no more than 1 Tablespoon a day for general daily maintenance.

However, for those people working in the silver industry or for those exposed to silver compounds regularly or for long periods, only a doctor should direct Ionic Silver supplementation.

Conclusion

In summary, the Ionic Silver water formulation enables the consumer, as well as the doctor, to create highly individualized supplement protocols, which should be of great benefit to all our customers.

I've read many posts about how this is a plan to remove the "useless eaters" from the population. Now we have the WHO saying they expect certain portionions of the population to die from H1N1. The "useless eaters" ... high cost health care recipients, and poor genetics, etc.

I guess that I have awoke and now I believe that the "bug" was designed to attack the "weak" to remove them from the gene pool.

Now, the question is, what will the "supposed cure" do to the rest of the population?

Only time will tell how bad things are going to get ...

So that's Argentina and Australia both in their winter flu season and yet there's no panic about this flu - no mass deaths or hospitals over run......

When exactly are they expecting the explosion and where? If countries already in flu season are all going about business as usual then I really, really don't get what the problem is?

Re: Swine flu 'explosion' coming: WHO
They keep saying 500,000 people die of the flu every year?

I only have one question.

Has anyone ever known anyone that has died of the flu?

OK, I lied, I have one other question.

Has anyone ever known anyone that has known anyone that has died of the flu???

With that many people that die of the flu every year, I would think that some time in my life I would have known someone that has died of the flu. But I haven't!?!?

wtf

Its all in the way they track their numbers, people that die from ANYTHING, if they HAVE the flu when they die, well then they are counted as dying from the flu, but in reality they were probably close to death anyway and the flu just kick them off this rock.

Interesting topic. I intend to begin using ionic silver water. We would all be a lot healthier for it.

Re: Swine flu 'explosion' coming: WHO
i suspect the flu is real

the cure i am not so sure about

The vaccine has appeared too quickly

Caution is needed

and god forbid it recombines with H5N1 this fall...the CDC has already warned that we are going to see a CFR rate of 2.5 to 3.3 percent...

does anyone realise what this means?

US population 360,000,000

40% attack rate

3% CFR

Worst case 4 million dead in the US
 Quoting: Avian

hmmm, stats like that would mean that the death rate would be equivalent to the entire populations of entire population of

Maine, AND RI, AND Delaware, AND Wyoming, AND Montana AND North Dakota.

Re: Swine flu 'explosion' coming: WHO
I am in Argentina an is winter here, the flu is totally overrated, here the media has bombarded us June and July, and then in August they realize that nothing great happens, and then people stop fearing this stupid flu and nobody is talking anymore off this shit.

I'm in Australia and I diddo your comment.
