Ever wonder why lions, tigers and bears [Oh my] look cute and cuddly ?

Does nature want us to be eaten by these creatures ?
Going off completely on a tangent...
It makes me think about monster movies, you know scary aliens and such ? the things always look gross and intimidating, never deceptively attractive or alluring.
I mean sea life is gross and insect life is disgusting but even they have the odd pretty coloured predator or two...I'm sure...I just cant think of any...plus I'm not that into bugs and fish so I'm sure there's loads of different kinds I never heard of.
AnyHoO! back to my point [I'm sure I had one] I want to see a monster [whatever kind] that's cute and cuddly while being magnificent and impressive like a lion or a tiger or a bear is...until you get to close and it rips your head off.
The only thing I can think of that comes close is the miners [or minors] from galaxy quest but its not like they graphically killed and devoured someone alive...you know cuz that would have been fucked up for a comedy scifi spoof.
