The Supreme Court has already ruled that separate is not equal. This applys to schools, laws, and even discipline rules.

They will get sued on this and the school district will lose. They know they will lose but are passing this just to placate the vocal groups that whine and moan if someone expects their kids to act in a civilized manner.

If the rule is a ten day suspension for fighting, then it should apply to everyone regardless of race involved in the fight.

The school district would do better to teach the kids how they are supposed to act in a school rather than just giving some kids permission to act the same way they do when they are wild in the streets.

so they resolve to fix a system and end up with this: they create a separate system of discipline divided along racial lines in order to demonstrate to the world that there are no 'ethnic/racial disparities'. end result below:
black kid beats on a white kid = detention
hispanic illegal kid buys a social security number = insta-entitlements
white kid uses the N word = expulsion

Warning, if you are a parent with children in the TUSD school district, this will make your head explode. Today, Tucson’s school district hit the national scene, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

Tucson schools create race-based system of discipline.

…The board is calling for a two-tiered form of student discipline. One for Black and Hispanic students; one for everyone else.

With the goal of creating a “restorative school culture and climate” that conveys a “sense of belonging to all students,” the board is insisting that its schools reduce its suspensions and/or expulsions of minority students to the point that the data reflect “no ethnic/racial disparities.”

From the section of the 52-page plan titled “Restorative School Culture and Climate,” subhead, “Discipline”:

“School data that show disparities in suspension/expulsion rates will be examined in detail for root causes. Special attention will be dedicated to data regarding African-American and Hispanic students.”

The board approved creating an “Equity Team” that will oversee the plan to ensure “a commitment to social justice for all students.”

The happy-face edu-speak notwithstanding, what the Tucson Unified School District board of governors has approved this summer is a race-based system of discipline.

Offenses by students will be judged, and penalties meted out, depending on the student’s hue.

Anytime you see the words social justice in any report, you know that we are in deep weeds.

Arizona’s schools rank near the bottom of practically every measured category in the United States. This one won’t help a bit. You can call the brilliant minds at the Tucson Unified School District at 520-225-6000 to share your thoughts on “social justice”.

We need to go back to the racial standards that the founders intended when they founded this country.

I went to a diverse school system in Arlington VA when I was a kid. Never had any problems with any classmates.
50% white 50% other.
Only the white kids get in trouble for silliness.(like me)

Go to a school that has a population that is 50% or more Black or Hispanic/Cuban/Mexican...all kinds of trouble, and not silly disruptive trouble either. Drugs and Gang violence along with refusal to comply to direction, basically being ig'nant.

American Indian, Middle Eastern, Oriental, Indian, African and European all have no problem getting along with the white people. Except for Isolated incidents, certainly not as a majority.

These people want to be equal?
Try being normal first, as a collective.
Part of that is, understanding what Education means.

You cannot help those who do not know what that help means.

Bill Cosby tried to say something to these kids...they don't care what a Cosby is, or what this man has done, they are clueless and doomed to be exactly where they are.

For example the OP clearly thinks that Black or Hispanic/Cuban/Mexican "naturally" cause more trouble than other "races".

No doubt this sort of attitude is prelivent throughout our society and in this school.

If you have a principal that thinks the same why then you will always see a higher number of minorities expelled even when the expellsion was not valid.

So checks need to be created to ensure that the principals bias and his incorrect mentality are not the cause of the high number of minority student problems.

Not everything in life is so easy as you would all like, this is not an attack against white people, white people are and still will be doing fine.

Get your kids out of this insanity. Find a good private school or homeschool them.
