Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 806418 United States 11/03/2009 09:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After they confirm that is where he delivered it, I'm calling the cops to make a report. Doubtlesss, fedex will make it right, but I think that she needs to be made to squirm a bit for being so petty as to lie about stealing something of so little value, from the neighbor who returns her kid's frisbee regularly. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 806418 United States 11/03/2009 09:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | see if you can get the original fedex label from your neighbor and match that tracking number up with Fedex. If that Fedex number shows that it was indeed delivered on that day then you know ur neighbor is a thief. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 805757I'd have to sneak in to her garage and peel it and steal it back--can't risk that--will depend on the fedex attempt at retrieval. Maybe they coincidentally bought their own 50# bag of DE? Possible, but I rarely believe in coincidence. If Fedex confirms the misdelivery to there, i'm calling the locall state troopers to report the theft by misappropriation after misdelivery. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 806418 United States 11/03/2009 09:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Call the police on them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 809765Also, you might want to think about getting a surveillance system installed around your house. Those sleazy bastards may try to steal shit from your houses some day. THEY ARE OFTEN OUT OF TOWN--i'D THINK THEY'D BE WORRIED I'D PAY THEM BACK SOMEHOW IN THEIR ABSENCE, TO DO THIS OVER SO LITTLE GAIN. whoops accidental capslock sorry...... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 804558 Canada 11/03/2009 09:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Put up real or fake security cameras looking down their driveway from your property and from the back yard. If they ask about it say."They're for both of us because there is a slimy, sneaky, no good thief in the neighborhood and I'm going to protect us." Then get a BIG dog who loves to eat frisbees. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 809873 United States 11/03/2009 09:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My wife ordered a digital camera for me a few years back for Christmas. The camera was due to be at our house via UPS before Christmas so she could wrap it etc. It never made it. After checking with UPS (could have been Fed Ex come to think of it but I forget), it had been delivered. And after many calls and conversations even with the driver, it was found out he delivered it to our neighbor just like in your case. We live in the country like you as well and only have two other homes on our street. He delivered it not to just the wrong house but the wrong street as well. Just one street over. My wife went to their house and asked them if they had recieved a package accidently that was for us and they said NO! So, after many many phonecalls with the sender and carrier, it was surmised that it was an accident by the driver and we recieved a new one via package insurance that was required by the sender. Recieved it 3 weeks after Christmas. Was a long ordeal for my wife! Talk with the driver and get him to confirm the dropoff location. We never did get the authorities involved. Sure they would have denied it till the day the died anyhow. Now you know your neighbors better and that they absolutely can't be trusted! Your right, I do not know very many people with a 50 pound bag of d.e. powder and very unlikely for it to be a coincidence. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 806418 United States 11/03/2009 10:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks for all your replies. I can't just go push my way in and heave a 50# bag and walk home with it. I have to let fedex attempt to correct their error, as they promise to do tomorrow, and take it from there. I simply can't believe that anyone, especially a public business person with local business and a web site, in a business that requires the trust of rather wealthy people, would be so sleazy over so little benefit. I guess the AKC registered show dog business is off, in these tight times. Why did she offer the info that they had a similar bag, but it wasn't mine, after going through a show of looking around for my misdelivered one and not finding it? |

User ID: 20215 United States 11/03/2009 10:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had a similar incident as above. I've lived in this neighborhood for over 20 years, neighbor across the street has lived here for over 10. She is only 2 years older than me so we were in H.S. together and her sister is a good friend of my wife. Anyway . . .package was delivered to here house by mistake, (not known to me). I asked the UPS driver about it and he told me which house he delivered to. I went over and asked her if she received a package of mine. She said yeah, but I was gonna give it back to the UPS driver. CHRIST . . I live 150 ft from here front door. And we don't have telephones? I was so pissed I could've spit . . . |

I think troopers are mostly for traffic and highway crimes. Try the Sheriff, only elected member of LE in this country. They are usually much more responsive because of being elected instead of just appointed or hired. Calling the cops is not needed and an overreaction. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 534348I don't want the lying bitch to think she can get away with treating us like that. if she kept a package with my name and address on it, that's stealing, to me. I'll find out if it is stealing according to the criminal code of my state, when I call the sheriff, or the state police, or the county attorney, or whoever I have to call until someone listens. |

Worked for me regarding a mis-delivered package to the home of our mayor... yes, the mayors wife was trying to keep my delivery as her own... but the moment I said "proof and cops and charges" the mayor himself was high tailing it over to my house with the contents of the package begging my forgiveness for the "mistake." |

That you have the paperwork to prove it and they have 30 minutes before you call the cops to present them with your evidence of delivery to their house and yes you do plan to press charges of theft if it is not returned immediately. Good idea--I'm anxiously awaiting an appearance of the fedex driver tomorrow, after he attempts to retrieve the package that he knows where he dropped off. This incident is very distressing to me, that someone would try to pull off crap like this, and smile and lie to a neighbor of 7 years, for almost no real value gained. What does that say about the culture and morality of the socalled "middle class', who can afford to live in a custom-built house on 14 acres? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 784441Your neighbor just HAPPENS to have a 50lb. bag of DE also? I could go up and down my block and not find a neighbor with any let alone 50lbs. You're a tool. Harden the F**K up! What I'm supposed to go up there all beliggerent and macho and take it back with my shotgun? I'm a mild-mannered ordinary person who believes in treating people with respect and honesty, as I'd wish to be treated. Violence and threat over a $27 bag of dirt is not me--but as my property has been violated, I'll let the state or local authority use their threat of violence to stand in for me and force her to be accountable for the misappropriation. |

User ID: 730536 United States 11/03/2009 10:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Of course you have to contact the authorities and I do recommend the County Sheriff's office as they are the most responsive being elected. A crime has been committed and should be reported. If the neighbor did not take it, you do want to know who did, right? How elese can you find out as you have no power to search or ask questions officially. Giving false info to LE is illegal most places, too. So DO report it to Sheriff's office. Just curious. . . where did you get a 50# bag? I get 5# buckets from Jeffers and think 50# bag would be just huge.
