Two witnesses--true wisdom
The two witnesses is only one person. The elect one shall be guided by Enoch. The elect one will be given command over the angels of this world. He is judging the hidden things of the sinners. his countenance will shine brightly as a sign to both saints and sinners. Sinners will try to deny the manifestation of God in him. The book of Enoch provides more info if you're interested. Love you all, and sorry.

Re: Two witnesses--true wisdom
In Biblical Israel, trials were held in open places, such as outside or near the city gate. During the trial the judges were seated and the witnesses stood. At least 2 witnesses were required to convict a person of a crime, and these had to be eye witnesses who caught the accused red-handed. When all evidence had been gathered, the judges gave their verdict.
Those who had brought the accused to trial (the witnesses) had the duty of enforcing the court's sentence.

The 2 witnesses in Revelation will/have come to accuse the world of its sin in front of the world for all to see. They will be given the power to carry out the judge's decision and start the process of God's wrath on humanity. That is why they will be given the power's of the earth to cause flood, earthquakes and famines.

Since these are witnesses in a legal since, they must have "witnessed" all the events on Earth in order to bring a valid accusation.

Malachi 3:23

23 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD.

Since Elijah never died (was taken up to the Lord as a human) he can bear witness and bring accusation to the world as a human. (only a human can do this).

The same goes for Enoch. The difference is Enoch lived in a world much similar to ours now, and God took him before the first doomsday. (I had a professor that believed the rain waters started to drop the day Enoch was taken). So, since he has seen the evilness of the pre-flood society, he appropriately can bear witness to the evilness of our pre-tribulation society by comparing the two.

Do you really honestly believe that the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church is one of God's 2 End-Time Witnesses ? Do you really feel that God has sealed the Pope as being one of the 144,000 saints ?

Re: Two witnesses--true wisdom
In may of this year a voice came to me and said, "do not read the book until you have spoken to the author first." i believed the voice to be that of God. I was directed to bless my house and plede the book as the book of my power, the book of my life, the book of my king. The other night about 4 or 5 days ago a voice came to me and corrected. The absolute fear of God was placed in me, before i believed that all would be saved from hell. But when this voice came to me it was accompanied by sirens and fear as I felt myself becoming closer to Satan. It was almost like "oh you wanna do things of Satan(sin) well look what happens u become closer to him and there was severe anxiety which went away as quikly as it came when i recognized God and humbled myself. Anyway, the voice told me he was Enoch. Two days later I looked up the book of Enoch. Makes a lot of sense. It wasn't until yesterday that I realized the correlation to th may 14th voice and my discovery of this book and the fact that I only looked it up because I heard from Enoch.
Why am I sorry? Cuz it sucks. right now I can see the reaction of those around me and I don't want anyone to hurt even though the world is wrong and this is how it must be. Right now my ministry is one not of words but of my mere presence. My countenance shall shine brighter as I present my conscious guiltless crushing everything Satan has set up as a distraction from the truth and who we really are. Sinners can't handle my countenance and deny it being from God. This is happening now and I feel myself becoming more confident in who I am. The power is being shifted to the saints. Th sinners shall be weakened.

Re: Two witnesses--true wisdom
Now, the one of whom it is spoken, he will come, is already on your plane and in the East. He has already attracted some attention to himself by proclaiming, as a child, that he was and is the return of David, once king of Israel. The son of a teacher, and has spoken of the poetry of the ancients. He has astounded those who have seen him already with his proclamation of self as a teacher. In that sense, he is already discovered. He has not attracted attention for some time now, but will again soon.

You’ll hear of his work first in the East, not speaking so much of the work of the Christian, for is a Hebrew of the Hebrews at the time, but will lead the work to the understanding that has been given. For it is said among the prophets, "I will send one for the remnant of Israel. One sent for those who have not believed that in the latter day they might be brought."

And so he will appear among them as one of their own, but will establish an understanding of the ministry of the Son of God in a new and acceptable manner to those. It is not a new word or new message, but a greater understanding might be brought.

He will come then to this land as a teacher, one having acclaim, and men will marvel at his words. He will be called John. The last name is not, by birth, Peniel, but that name adopted for its meaning, "where I met God face to face." And he will use that name in the ministry and will be known of men not because of his use of the name, but because of his teaching and his work among men.

Will appear at a time of great fear, of great frustration, great confusion, particularly because of the dangers of the politics of those who will have rallied the many, mixing, as it were, politics and religion in this time. For the two come together in this day, even as they were separated in that earlier day, but come together, in the hearts of too many, in confusion.

For even that one you have asked concerning this night who has come from the East, will be found of greater concern in the political arena than the religious. For his work is of gathering forces of power, exerting influence upon the masses, swaying the masses to new politics and a mixture of politics and religion. Will proclaim himself Messiah and a great many will follow. Great confusion will come regarding his works, a great many will be hurt. He, then, will be known at a time that John of Peniel will begin to speak of the force that is the Christ, and clarify the difference, that men may understand that that is the mystical Christ with that that is Christ in the flesh. Then may begin to see and know, then, the manner in which two can become one.

Then he is known already among you. His work will be established. And let those of you who have specific interest, and can be about the search, find. For already in the popular press have been stories of his entry in the earlier time, in your generation, the story of a child who spouting words of ancient wisdom and quoting ancient signs, declaring to his elders that he is the return of David.

Look unto him, for this is the one of whom it was written, "He will come."

Re: Two witnesses--true wisdom
FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

RESUME OF THE TWO WITNESSES
In 1978, for reasons I can't fully explain, I became intensely interested in Bible prophecy. I first read several works of others, but later, the Lord made it quite clear to me that I was to then put those studies aside and spend time in His Word alone for a season. That season has lasted for eighteen years. After many editing sessions and more hours than even I can remember, the results of those studies are now (1996) available in a book entitled The Two Witnesses. In order for my thoughts on John 11 and Acts 27 & 28 to have more meaning, let me provide at least a brief summary here of The Two Witnesses.
Christians have been taught by most modern-day writers to view prophecy in one sense only, the so-called Futuristic. This means that most of the book of Revelation (beginning at Rev. 4:1) is all yet future. I once agreed with this approach. However, I am now firmly convinced that this line of thinking has caused one of the greatest Biblical oversights in the Church today. God has shown me clearly that the book of Revelation, Daniel and other pertinent, prophetic Scriptures were written with the Law of Double Reference in mind. (This is not a sales pitch, but you do need to acquire a copy of The Two Witnesses to see a broader scope of this reality.)
Revelation 11 primarily discusses the identities and functions of two "personalities" referred to as the two witnesses. I believe that I was under the Holy Spirit's direction during these studies because of the uncommon compulsion I had to read and re-read this passage until it finally dawned on me that this Scripture is referring to two large groups, not merely two individuals. (Most authors believe these to be Moses, or Enoch, and Elijah.)
Eschatology scholars and many others will react negatively to what I just said if they have already made up their minds as to who the two witnesses are. Please let me explain why I believe my position has credibility:
On the face of it, the expression "two witnesses" certainly implies only two people. But the fact is, more than any other Scripture, the book of Revelation uses many words with metaphoric implications, such as "horns", "beast", "leopard", "bear", "lion", "dragon", "woman", and "child", just to name a few. And not one of these, even other writers agree, has anything to do with the literal sense of the word. They have all kinds of meanings, some refer to certain individuals and some to certain nations. Examples: "child" refers to Jesus Christ, the "dragon" is Satan, and "woman" alludes to Israel.
After reflecting for some time on these facts, it finally occurred to me that the "two witnesses" might also have a meaning other than the literal sense only. I then decided to explore the possibility. Once my mind was open to this possibility, it was immediately very clear to me that many of the characteristics of the "two witnesses" are more like two large masses of people than just two individuals. I won't go into a complete explanation here, for to do so would be to re-write The Two Witnesses. But the reader needs to have the Scripture and some brief comments at hand now in order to consider what I am suggesting. I have underlined a few key words which on careful analysis implies nations, not merely two persons. Rev.11:3-12:

3 "And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies; and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy; and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9 And they of the peoples and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not permit their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another, because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11 And after three days and a half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet, and great fear fell upon them who saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up here. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies beheld them."

Since my views will likely be new to the reader, I would suggest several readings of the above passage, keeping firmly in mind as you read the possibility that two masses of people are being discussed here.
To really grasp what the apostle John revealed here about the two witnesses, every single word and phrase must be carefully scrutinized from a Biblical perspective. That is, one needs to go to all the places in the Bible where the key expressions here are found. That's what I did in preparation of writing The Two Witnesses. Here are a few examples of what I learned about some of the words underscored above:
The Greek inference of "power" means "of me", indicating the sovereignty of God in action relative to the two witnesses. That is, God's power would be working super-naturally within the two witnesses to accomplish God's goals through them, without even them fully understanding the anointing that was theirs.
"Days" could be prophetic days, as is used in Ezekiel 4:6, which there means one day = one year.
"Sackcloth" was worn by prophets-of-old to identify them as God's anointed. The central message of the prophet was almost always a call for Israel to repent. Revelation 11 has this in mind relative to the two witnesses. John used the word metaphorically to implicate the primary message they would preach---that sinners must turn from their wicked ways towards the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
An "olive tree" in the Old Testament meant many things. To name a few, it stood for peace, Holy Spirit empowerment, fruitfulness, abundance, channels of blessings towards others, beauty, strength, divine blessings of their own, prosperity, and signs of friendship.
A "lampstand" was used to hold a light source. In ancient times, the stand was placed in a high place so that the torch could shed its light widely into the surrounding darkness. The lampstand pictures the two witnesses occupying a prominent place in the world so that the light of their testimony would be shed abroad broadly to illuminate the spiritual darkness which would prevail throughout humanity for many years.
The "fire" of verse 5 must be taken quite literally, for the enemies of the two witnesses were to be killed by it! It is also very important to note that attempts to destroy the two witnesses would backfire and those who were responsible would themselves be destroyed "in like manner". This can refer to nothing but unruly and wicked nations who would try to destroy the places where the "lampstands" stood---namely the nations that housed the two witnesses.
"Rain", in the Biblical sense, refers to blessings, which can be both physical and spiritual. To "rain not" in the days of the prophecy of the two witnesses simply means that they would control many of the earth's resources, both spiritual and natural, through the "of Me" power God would give them.
Having power over the "waters" means the two witnesses would have power to dominate other nations as long as they would have the "will" to do so---i.e., as long as the desires and motives of the two witnesses aligned with God's intents and purposes.
That the beast would "make war" against the two witnesses at the end of their testimony is one of the most convincing proofs that the two witnesses are two nations, not just two individuals. Conflicts are called "war" when nations rise against nations. This is always true in all languages and it is also true throughout Scripture. All references in the Bible, and there are many, infer large groups when the word "war" is used. And I'm persuaded the reason God used the word "war" being made against the witnesses is to reveal to us that nations are being spoken about.
And finally, the words "Sodom" and "Egypt" where the bodies of the two witnesses lie after the beast has killed them, is the most convincing proof of all that two nations are meant by the term "two witnesses". More in a moment on this.
Let me now present the identity of the two witnesses: they are Great Britain and the United States of America. Somewhat paradoxically, but just like God to do it this way, I came to this position long before reading several books which added confirmation to my convictions.
(There are two very enlightening statistical books I would recommend to those who wish to investigate this further. These books do not attempt to present G.B. and the USA as the two witnesses but they clearly show that still 90% of missionary work reflects the influence of these nations.
OPERATION WORLD by Patrick Johnstone and
LET THE EARTH HEAR by Paul E. Freed.)

The very thing which troubles most people who would resist my evaluation of the two witnesses is ironically the very thing which adds the most credibility to my conclusions! Some feel such a belief as mine is preposterous due to the rampant ungodliness and immorality which pervades in England and America today.
The fact is, this exactly fits the Biblical description the apostle John gives in verse 8 when he said the dead bodies of the two witnesses would be found in a city spiritually known as "Sodom" and "Egypt".
Most interpreters say this "city" must be Jerusalem because that's where the Lord was crucified. But I believe we must see this "city" metaphorically, not as a single town, because John so pointedly qualified his meaning. If John had meant Jerusalem, there would be absolutely no reason for his descriptive words "...which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt." (In the Old Testament, "city" is often used to describe entire nations. See Jeremiah 21:9 as an example.) Surely John's objective was to indicate that the conditions which prevailed in a local situation when Jesus was crucified would later broaden to include entire nations where the two witnesses would die. Do the metaphors fit the nations I've identified? Let's see.

John's words were carefully selected by the Holy Spirit in order to provide us with just enough information to make rational decisions based on careful Biblical analysis of his metaphors. Sodom was most notable for sexual immorality, particularly rampant homosexuality. The outstanding characteristics of Egypt was always idolatry and false religion. Put these facts together and it spells the conditions which prevail today in the lands of Great Britain and the USA! Sexual perversion seems to have obsessed the minds of many in America. Immoralities of all kinds are constantly splashed before our eyes on television, movies, books, magazines, newspapers and in real life. This is what spiritual Sodom means.
Nevertheless, even a cursory study of the foundation of England and America will show that the Christian influence was at the core of the establishment and the on-going plights of these two nations. Have they been perfect or totally "Christian"? Of course not. But to deny the power which the Church and her Gospel message has had upon these two nations is to simply deny the plain facts of recorded history.
In earlier days, part of the undergirding strength within England and America has rested upon the fact that they have resisted (even at the governmental level) the practice of false religions and false philosophies within their shores. When this was in action, all the people were blessed, Christian or not. This is clear evidence that God honors the Biblical principle that righteousness exalts a nation. However, in just the past few years, there has been a breakdown in these walls of protection. Sin and apostasy in the Church is the likely reason for the breakdown. Many labels could be given the ever-growing, spiritual-garbage heap but it all boils down to self-centeredness and the humanistic tendency of people to worship fallen-man's religion---goddess of "mother earth". Amazingly, John capsuled all this with one word---Egypt.
But in spite of all the negative influences upon us in this final hour, don't forget these facts: even the slightest research will indicate that, of all nations, Great Britain and the USA have had the preeminence with regards to emphasis on the Bible, producing its translations, its publications, its dissemination, the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ both here and abroad, the training and sending forth of missionaries, etc. The same can be said of those who finance evangelism. Even in the midst of spiritual Sodom and Egypt, the financial sustenance of outreach is still provided largely by Christian Americans and Christian Canadians. (Great Britain has been spread among many nations at different times. Each of these has played a role in its hour. Canada is an offspring of England and is, I believe, the main, remaining remnant.)
There are hundreds of books to substantiate the Christian influence of Great Britain and the USA. It's amazing to me that no one has seen that this was forecast in the Bible. I suppose God wanted it this way. Perhaps if the Church in G.B. and the USA had recognized their identity as the "two witnesses" it would have generated an element of pride resulting in a failure of the missions God had purposed to carry out through them.
Since writing my book, I have learned that others have also sought to find the British and the Americans in the Bible. Most conclude we are just not there. A few have written that the "young lions" or the "merchants of Tarshish" found in Ezekiel 38:13 might allude to America and Great Britain. It surprises me that they see the metaphors here but not in Revelation 11! But then, no one can really understand God's revelations until the Holy Spirit opens our eyes to them. That's just the way it is. I make no claim to possessing superior knowledge here, only that I have heard from the One who does.
As I said earlier, there is obviously much more in my book The Two Witnesses to firm up my convictions about Great Britain and America in prophecy and it would be helpful if you had all that information before reading the commentary which lies ahead.
(There is a teaching called "British Israelism" which some have confused my beliefs with. I do not ascribe to this teaching at all and had never heard of it prior to writing The Two Witnesses. British Israelism is perhaps, like so many of Satan's deceptions, designed to steer the Church away from the real facts of the matter.)
But at least you now know the basic fundamentals of my beliefs concerning the identities of the "two witnesses" of Revelation 11, and with this you should be ready to follow my reasoning of the metaphors found in John 11 and Acts 27 & 28.
Even though the numbering system of the chapters and verses in the Bible did not occur until only a few centuries ago, I'm convinced even this process was at least subject to God's influence, if not indeed exactly arranged by His inspiration. I could write a small book on the amazing ties I've discovered between certain chapter and verse numbers. Other sensitive students of the Bible are also discovering this truth. It was well after I had arrived at my present convictions regarding prophecy that I realized Revelation 11 and John 11 are inexorably-linked. With the above thoughts on Revelation 11 fresh in mind, let's now move on to John 11.

(Shortly after I discovered the "hidden" truths of Revelation 11 and John 11, the authorities of Haralson County [Georgia] changed the address where I was born [still my mother's home] from a rural route to a number system. The assigned number (not Mom's choice) was 1111. Now some may believe this was a mere-chance coincidence, but if I told you all the similar situations surrounding my discovery regarding Bible prophecy over the past 16 years, it would take another book to describe it all. If you can accept the possibility, you will better understand why I believe these were God-purposed outcomes designed to bolster my own convictions. I am not a sign-seeker, but neither do I believe in mere-chance coincidences. These things were caused to happen and, in my opinion, merely reflects how closely God the Father is involved with His children, even in the tiniest of details.)

Re: Two witnesses--true wisdom
Yesterday, I was walking home from a friends gathering. As I now live in the spirit constantly it is recognizable. One of the two girls about 15 feet ahead of me said to the other, "I just started feeling really uncomfortable." the other replied, "me too." the both on their own turn turned around and looked at me and proceeded to walk. Power is shifting from the lust of the body to the righteousness of the spirit. Turn from your sin and do not deny the spirit as so many will do. From the beginning of time there has been a place for both righteous and unrighteous spirits. Although man shouldn't have been involved and shouldve lived and developed on their own we became subject to the spirit because of the angels mentioned in revelation who "could keep their post." Listen!

Here you go. I believe Jesus in the flesh as we know it was the first of the two witnesses. He said he would be back. Here's here burning within me. And we are the two witnesses standing before blameless. Jesus born without sin. Me, through the faith and strength provided and the fear of God, found blameless as I live sinfree. I declare and this to be true by my blood and the blood of Jesus Christ, he who left in the spirit and has returned to his bride. Everyone who doubted him now will have a chance to live again. You now must come through me, he who judges the hidden things, in order to be with God. So be it.
