Have seen them a few times too.. great in concert, including solo & as Pink Floyd. Glad I saw them at Hyde Park in '05.. I felt I'd seen them truly play for the last time then.. Love all their music, from early to later stuff. Great music..! |

Longtime for people of my generation of course because they are twice removed in that measure. Bought Cre/ation and Obfusc/ation which share some tracks. In the middle of Obfuscation right now. My only complaint is being defecit in something physical to hold in my hands. But a half pint of Brandy doesn't even blur the clarity of this recording made in 1972 played well. You never hear a wrong note with this band and everything always works out with the interplay. They put a lot into their music even if you might believe some of it is under orch/estrated. I like this. You should check it out. Not anutter cig nature. |

At first I was like that reporter has an American accent and then realised they weren't in England. Last Edited by Bankroll on 03/07/2021 12:46 AM Not anutter cig nature. |

If you want to listen to a 50 year time span, listen to Pink Floyd. Their discography in my opinion portrays these time periods best until "The Division Bell" in 1994. 2014 The Endless River doesn't really count. They were amazing before the departure of Roger Waters, and in my unpopular opinion, became even better without him. A Momentary Lapse of Reason is my favorite album of theirs and that is a very tough choice to make... Very tough. But Sorrow into Yet Another Movie makes me feel the late 70's and 80's and I was born in '92. Truly timeless band! Some of their stuff is VERY trippy you know like ummagumma, Meddle, Piper, Obscured by Clouds and Atom Heart Mother. But it's not uncomfortable like The Grateful Dead, it's a journey. I absolutely love AMLOR over The Final Cut by a lot, though that is still a fantastic album. Funny enough... The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon are probably at the bottom of my list. The Wall is just too dark and was very heavily marketed and played into oblivion and Dark Side had the marketing fatigue and while amazing, had in my opinion the most filler. PS edit Had to add, Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast is the first use of ASMR that progressively builds into a slapper all from quite literally breakfast being made in a waking kitchen while an old bloke reads the paper and proclaims his fondness of marmalade.
