God is seen as a being that exists without outside cause, in other words, God is a being that causes its own existence. What Gödel has shown (using pure logic!), is that no logical system can "explain God", since no logical system can handle this form of self-referentiality without leading into paradoxes, and such paradoxes invalidate the method of logic itself.
