This only applies to what's in the water, displacing volume.. If a glacier was say, half in and half out of the ocean for instance, the extra volume has to go somewhere if it melts..

That'd be because the icecube floats level with the water.. stick something in there, like an ice frosticle, that'll stick out of the glass and when it melts the glass content will increase.
