I recently lost MY MOTORCYCLE to a fucking PICKER PUNK EBAY MONKEY ASS SHITHEAD: he took advantage of my 76 year old mother and father...offering 275$....then 475$ for a 1982 Honda Silverwing (fairing, luggage, 12,000 original miles).

Then I find it in Custer, South Dakota....owned by the guy who bought it from the car flipping picker scumbag punk.

THE GUY DID NOT TELL MY HOPELESS AGING FATHER, the bike is gonna sell at least for 1500$...and it sold quick.

THESE TWO PIGS CALLED "PICKERS" ARE DISGUSTING. THEY ARE JUST THE TYPE OF THIEVES THAT USED TO PREY ON MY GRANDMOTHER WHEN SHE GOT TOO OLD TO REALIZE THE ACTUAL VALUE OF HER POSSESSIONS. CHARLETONS LIKE MIKE AND FRANK WOULD STOP BY PRETENDING TO BE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, THEN LEAVE WITH HALF HER STUFF.

I am 71years old and enjoy the show for what it is! enjoyable interesting entertainment i find the team do a very good job and the gay factor has nothing to do with it.Hell half of hollywood filmstars have been batting for the otherside for a 100 years so whats the big deal

A lot of these ' treasures' are sitting outside and rotting into the ground. They rescue the items before they are garbage. They revisited Leland and brought him a antique sign with his name on it so you shoul probably watch all the episodes before you scream bs. Leland's daughter invited him back becaus she does no want all her fathers horde. Not to mention the time they donated a dinosaur bone worth 10,000 to a museum and took a 500 loss.

I agree with the majority of the ideas that these two pickers are scum. I would like to know why anyone would watch them at all. I never liked them and don't watch them because they are greedy. They are a couple of low life-clowns. They suck.

What do you expect? History Channel is New World Order puppetry at its best. Where else besides Hollywierd can you find film makers spending millions of $$$ on brainswashing episodes? Take for example Pickers' "Emu Chase" episode. Don't tell me they didn't set up the antique store shot where Augustus Mutt (of Mutt and Jeff) covers his mouth in awe as he spies something of interest but pretends not to notice a large dangling photo of President Lincoln that looms into the left of the medium close-up shot to Mutt's right. What does this mean? Its the regurgitation, drip-feed ploy of the "new Lincoln" alias a half-black half-white "Kenyan" presently occupying Lincoln's shoes. These episodes are mini series addenda to the onslaught of the many Hollywood mindf&(k releases all set to emplant the oncoming agenda. Anyone who believes these HC episodes, needs to get out of Mom's basement and wake up. All those HC episodes are NWO sponsored, bent in their direction, megabuck mindwash devices.

History, Nat Geo or Discovery Channel, all the same. There are 3 types of programs

1) Shows that follow idiots who decide to carve themselves a living in some kind of primary industry with no particular expertise and a massive lack of common sense. Usually resulting in them breaking something, setting fire to something, blowing something up or shooting something.

2) Shows that follow people who buy stuff and sell it for a higher price, often resulting in them shooting something, blowing something up or setting fire to something

3) Shows where people make stuff specifically to blow something up, set fire to it or shoot it - or simply make a living from shooting things or blowing them up.

Actually I forgot one...

4) Shows where people kill some kind of animal in large numbers, generally by shooting them.

These shows are the window to the USA for the rest of the world.

Then then, The Murder Channel(Fox News)reposts on the result.

You all don't watch this show on a regular basis or you know the men pay more then what the buyer offers it for. Also, they are in it as a business...so they can make money also. You all are also probably into Obama too.

I cannot understand the STUPIDITY in this country. The pickers buy and sell for a living. If they buy a $5000.00 item for $5000.00 What are they going to sell it for? They are not collectors When they are buying a motorcycle part for themselves they step up and pay retail.Also the episode from Easton PA they made 10 grand on side show banners they went back and split the profit.Most of the things they buy don't sell right away that is why they want to double their profit. the people doing all of the bitching haven't you ever traded in a car that is where the blue book came from so the buyer can make a profit.

Clearly the people complaining don't understand how the world of second hand products work. These guys tell people what things are worth and what they need to pay to make it worth their while. They have connections and know where and how to sell stuff. Your grandfather with a garage full of junk in most cases wouldn't know how to sell or who to sell to for top dollar. They have overhead of two stores, employees and travel costs. They can't drive to Florida and buy something for $90 and sell it for a $100. Most dealers pay half of what they plan to sell it for and in most cases even less. Pretty standard.

It is a bit of a stretch to call this a history show, but I enjoy it.

Anybody who agrees to allow TV cameras in, is on the wrong side of the deal unless they are firmly breaching the oral contract made prior to Pickers showing up: PICKERS NEED TO BUY BELOW RETAIL.

MIKE grew up poor with a single Mom....so he had to hussle a buck and will always fear and loath poverty and the lack of status a child has when growing up poor.

I got screwed on an old motorcycle with a classic somewhat rare engine manufactured by HOnda (horizontally opposed 500cc engine...notorious for reliability and high mileage with little or no maintenance).

The pickers took advantage of my father who is losing his vitality and wisdom and will in his ill health and old age.

So...car flippers preying on old people are not vultures confused with songbirds in my book.

My cousins sold their parents (my Uncle & Aunt) 500 acre ranch (homesteaded in 1901) in 2006. I was saddened greatly as I watched MANY, one of a kind antiques and family helium’s hauled off TO THE DUMP & THRIFT STORES!!. I was able to buy a few items from my them. I pleaded with them to bring in antique dealers, someone to look over what had been there for 50+ years, but they could not be bothered. I would have gladly welcomed Mike & Frank to the Ranch.

What most people see is 'One born every minute' and there are but more like every second, yes we all need to make 62% profit on a buck or we'll be out of business, what is gathered for discussion here is the 'What do you need for this' antics that go on in front of the camera where one says 'I can get 400 dollars for this crap I just bought for 40 dollars, what they say and do are far apart, what we see are the 'used car salesman' that everyone kinda hates, This happens a bit to often, enough to change the Chanel an cool off the engines, Like say to pawn shows, Glittered out people without a care in the wallet except for what is paid out, It's a shame the History channel had to put Actual footage of what people have been doing to each other for century's, I liked the 'Two' times I've seen the Shows make amends to a powerful profit by giving a percentage to sellers of grand slam purchases, yep, One Born Every Minute, don't look, we've all been one at one time or more in our lives and THIS Sucks an Egg when it happens to ANYONE, Never mind on National Television for all to see, We all think back on the time we were treated similarly, The 21st Century, What next a show about scabs opening old wounds? so some shame Pickers & Pawn, I somewhat agree.. Wow I was just thinking about this thread the other day. I remember when it was first posted.

I agree with the above critique regarding these two morons, I cannot stand the two of them, rip off down to the bone, may they burn in hell for ripping people off.
Phony Mike always comes across as the good guy but I can see when he is getting mad at a seller, and that rat bastard Frank, cheap...cheap, can't think of a better way to describe his unethical dealings with people. I can honestly say I hate the show and do not watch it anymore.

The haters have no idea what running a business costs. A seller can say no, your faulting them for buying as cheap as they can, then after finding the item, they got to cart it around, restore or fix if needed, market it, pay rent on the stores, etc.


Those guys probably don't make much money outside of the fees they get for the show. Half of what they buy is flat out junk. Its probably all BS TV anyway though.

I know 2 people who are pickers. Funny thing is, they complain about seeing the same picking competition at the garage sales they can't wait to go to every weekend. What they do is partly sickening to me. It would be one thing if they told the seller, "this old bench has a fair market value of $1,200". However, since 50% of our profit is absorbed by the IRS, Ebay fees, PayPal fees, storage space rent, etc., I can offer you $600 for the item." That's still a $300 profit!!!

However, if the the seller wanted $600 for the item, they would walk away. One of them would only buy the item if they could get it for no more than say $150. That would be a 400% profit after costs, fees, and taxes. However, they generally look to pay $80-$125 for items they can sell for $1,200.

Is it really taking advantage of people, I think so.
