BREAKING: Anomalous air activity in Eastern England

Ok, nothing more on this than my own eyes, but I I was just walking home when an AWACS flew over, which isn't too odd for here, but what is odd is that it circled around at least twice, and was then followed by a Fighter plane (Probably a Tornado). This doesn't happen all that often. The planes were heading southwest-ish after circling. I'm on the Nottinghamshire-Lincolnshire border.
