I usually call it pop. How ironic that I live in the deep south, yet I refer to it as it would be there. However, being that I am in the "black belt" of the nation [link to en.wikipedia.org]
many refer to it as 'cold drank'.

Also, I find it odd that the name of my parish, Tangipahoa, was inhabited by a tribe called the 'Acolapissa.' I think it is wrong to use piss in the context we use it today. It is used in the wrong context these days. When we tell one another to 'piss off' or 'I'm gonna go take a piss', it makes one wonder what exactly are we really saying?

Good question. I have lived in Michigan, New Mexico, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Georgia, California, Illinois, South Carolina, Virgina and Nevada.

That being said I was raised calling a soft drink pop. Now I say soda.

I think the usual in my area is soda, but just a 130 miles away in another area it's 'Pop'.
