I just spent the last couple hours out at my reloading bench.
Nothing is cheaper than reloads!

45 acp
Primer: 3 cents
Powder: 3 cents
Home cast bullet: free

Total: 6 cents per round.

$0.03 for powder? Better recalculate, I think you're even cheaper. Powder hasn't gone up that much, I think.

My very good friend is still working off primers that were ~$18/1000 and Bullseye that was $80/8#. Primers are from the mid/late-90s Clinton scare - stored properly. He remembers when you could go into the local sporting goods store and buy a tray of 100 retail for $1.29. That's not in case lots of 5000 or on sale... ahh, the good old days.

45ACP
Primer - 1.8 cents
Powder - 0.6 cents
Lube/Flux/other - 0.5 cents(?)
Hand cast bullet - free

Total - 2.9 cents = $1.45 per box of 50, or less.

He's a little worried when his lead/ww run out since, as you know, they aren't giving it away anymore. Still has a few 100#s but in a few years things could get dicey.

Have fun.

I was using the current prices at my local gun shop.
A pound of Unique goes for $30, and I get a hair over 1000 rounds out of a pound. Primers are going for $29.99 per 1k.

My actual cost is less, because I bought a few 8 lb jugs when it was more like $18-19 per pound.

Bullseye would be even cheaper, but I only use that for very light loads.
