Do unscrupulous people realize what they're doing?
This woman that I work with seems to have a little crush on me and the other day she was telling me about her life and I got the feeling that she was trying to impress me. I got the feeling that she's hurt because I pretty much always ignore her.

She's gorgeous and nice but I have reasons for ignoring her...

1. She brags about how she lies to her husband.

2. She's known for lying to customers.

I ignore this woman because I know someone that unscrupulous will think nothing of lying to me or using me and thus hurting me in the future.

But, she would never think of that in a million years and I can't explain that to her...

Do unscrupulous people realize what they're doing?

I think they often block out the evil they do and concentrate on the good so they don't even realize they're evil and they're hurting people.

It's like positive thinking, concentrate on the positive and don't pay attention to the negative. That's a recipe for disaster because if you do that you won't be able to improve your shortcomings because you won't SEE your shortcomings.

Now I actually feel guilty about ignoring this woman because I feel I'm causing her pain...

she'll never ever know why, I have to defend myself from the pain she'd cause me if I got to know her better.

People can do whatever they think is positive as long as they see it as positive

If for instance I'm a Bully I'm not going to focus on the kid I'm hurting I'm going to focus I'm the fun I'm having and the money I'm getting

In a grander sense If they see a holy war as a positive I'm not going to focus on wow I'm killing people, they will focus on doing it for gratification from god because they are doing what they are told and they have a reward

I think some claim that there's no such thing as evil because they're soulless. They've sold/lost/never developed their souls so they can not see what evil is.
