Has anyone noticed there are only 1-3 cashiers at wal-marts and k-marts lately?

all places are cutting back on employees, not just retail, restaurants too. Trying to save money.

Try not to get pissy with the cashiers, it's not their fault.

Only when it's +/- 10 minutes around shift change time. Other than that the front manager calls people off the floor to ring if he/she sees any lines. If there are idle open lines, the cashier is sent back to the floor to work.

Looks very efficient to me to squeeze real work out of people instead of standing around waiting for someone to show up at any of 5 or 6 empty checkout lines.

Target is the worst offender. 30 registers, 2 open, all the time.

The place I notice it at is the banks. Never enough tellers.

I made a personal rule never to shop at Walmart or Kmart.

I have the patience to wait maybe 10 minutes, but 20-30 minutes is crazy.

It is awful I had to wait close to 30 minutes at walmart once. I have stopped shopping walmart for many reasons but this is one of them. Then they have all the self check outs but half of them are broken or they just don't want to turn them on. Walmart has plenty of money they just can't keep employees because they are a horrible company to work for.
