Funny, the "no wmd" is common in the "progressive" but dense crowds. I know people working in the pentagon during these events/years with primary knowledge that we did, without debate, find WMD. It was buried to save face on behalf of... wait for it.... the fucking French! I don't have more details than this, there certainly could have been others, but the jist the the issue was that allied fingerprints were all over what was found. On a greater philosophical level however, how is it the "progressives" can be so arrogant in their enlightenment, yet so ignorant. Well, for starters, as Dr. Sowell points out, teachers and educators are at the bottom of the intellectual ladder and have been since the early 20th century as evidenced by nearly all standardized test scores, entrance exams, etc. So that's not a good start, making teachers more at risk for dumb, un-intellectual passions such as the environmental movement, organic vegetables, man-made global warming, etc. However, does anyone else just cringe at the inconsistency when it comes to trusting government? I think Jeffersonian Limited-Gov. Conservatives are like soldiers, they are the ones that least glorify war, yet are they very ones who step forward to do the fighting. Conservatives least like government, keep it at arms length, yet know what it is good for, what it does well, and when to trust it. Why do the progressives not trust their glorious government when they're making their pronouncements on the strange smoke trails, or what THEY actually know about the situation; as in Iraq, WMD, Afghanistan, etc. but then they DO trust their government, without reservation, to provide and manage healthcare? This should tell you all you need to know about the intellectual veracity of your modern liberal, progressive.
