There is no mandatory nor enforceable law that forces companies creating synthetic genomes to even place signature markers in them to identify their artificial creations. There are no hearings, impact reports, or safeguard regulations. No one can legally force any company, such as Synthetic Genomics Inc., to comply with ethical guidelines. It's a free-for-all.
