I think guns stores sell a cleaner but I am sure there is something much less expensive on the regular market. I suppose a gunny will help you out soon. Whaja buy? Fishing and skiing keeps me a little sane. |

I got an AK-47 They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1019802 United States 01/25/2011 08:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is no easy way....You will laugh, but the "easiest" way to do a batch is to strip 'em and boil 'em in a large vat of water...The stuff just runs out....Leave 'em in long enough to remove it all and the metal heats up enough so that the heat evaporates the water..a little fluff and buff and you're good to go. Let the vat cool down and you can save the cosmoline that hardens on top for another long term storage project.... The stocks are harder...Wrap 'em in an old sheet, put that in a black plastic bag, leave that on your dashboard in the sun until they quit oozing sludge... It sounds like a lot of work but it is a thorough method that keeps ya from havin' to do it over and over and over.. Make sure that you clean the firing pin on an SKS and the firing pin channel completely..You should be able to hear the pin rattle back and forth if you shake it (unless an aftermarket pin spring was added)..Cosmoline can make the pin stick and that could lead to an outta control slamfire event. |

User ID: 1115888 United States 01/25/2011 08:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cheap way to do it is to heat up some water till boiling then when you have it good and hot just drench the gun with it. The heat from the water will dry it all out. Wouldn't have believed it till I tried it. Worked good but I still oiled the crap out of it after it cooled down. |

This is the TIGHTEST best made non Milled AK I have ever bought. I'm thinking about getting second one. I'm telling you, this thing is bad ass. Even the dust cover is tight. No rattles, loose parts and the trigger is awesome. ITEM # ROM-AK MV-BPS....$379.95........$349.95 If you ever wanted a really well built decent AK for cheap this is it. They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out. |

Reall nice people and the FFL transfer to Cabela's went without a hitch. Cost an extra 30 bucks for the transfer but it was worth it. Didn't have to pay tax and its better built than the wood stock POS ak's they are selling for 100 dollars more.
