As nice as it is to hear and see solidarity among Muslims and the very tiny number of Christians there in Egypt, one has to wonder what the military is going to be doing in the intervening months until the new elections... and what the new constitution will be like.

It's a good thing the people love the military there, because that is exactly who is in charge right now. It was pretty baffling to see the people running for joy to meet oncoming tanks in the first days of the protest and then watch as that beloved military did little more than sit there and watch and act like a referee between pro and anti protesters. It looked more like a very patient military coup with support from the people.

Now Egypt has no civil government, no constitution, and months before any elections. This is not over. Not by a long shot.

lol. once we got past basic hunter gatherer societies somebody got the bright notion of how to rule people is to alleviate their fears. so they need a fear. give them one. tell them how you will protect them. done deal. its called false flag. a very basic way of ruling people.

You're welcome - yes the people know the time is sensitive and vulnerable, but everybody here is on guard. They are looking forward to vote on the Constitution in 2 months. People are really excited about that here. Yes, the military here is really loved and respected, and the people did request the help from the Military. And I think that was the only and best outcome to get rid of the Regime. Lets hope they continue on this track - time will tell.

Listening to the english radio station here today, the guy said "I was watching the movie "V" for Vendetta the other day and at one point in the movie the guy said, lets start chaos - let them remember why we're here. I'm just telling you that to think about it". Wow, I really was shocked when I heard him say that, I knew exactly what he was referring to. so op, the instability and violence that has plagued egypt can essentially be traced back to the US led Mubarek government {regime}. unless someone fills the void and tries to assume power with false flag terrorism, and they will try, egypt may very well have peace and prosperity break out!!!

tptb always found it hard to rule in these circumstances. thats why they make sure drugs are available, an enemy is around every corner, prices are high so you have to slave to make a living, and laws are in place to punish the citizens for breaking useless laws. these things are a winning formula for controlling people. when the people won't put up with it anymore tptb are screwed.

I think the people here have realized what is really going on and they are fully aware. They will hit the streets again and in larger numbers should the need arise, they're fed up of 60 years of oppression. I think TPTB really ARE screwed in Egypt, at least for now. But I'm waiting for some kind of attack. NO word from the CIA Rendition guy Suleiman, this guy is dangerous - and obviously Gamal Mubarak also ran a lot of these types of shows too. I'm being vigilant about a retaliation...they're just too quiet right now.

I think this will happen now all over the world, it's not just Regimes in the ME or 3rd world countries that resort to these type of measures to keep their people in check. Look no further than the US. Once the people wake up, TPTB will be scrambling to save themselves. If we all stick together instead of letting them divide us by labels they keep slapping onto people, we will outnumber them. Just like the egyptians did.

I'm sure politics attacked the church. Even if radicals were used. Most of the time when radicals do something, they are used. Nobody knows who uses them. I always see Cheney in a cave somewhere full of gadgets controlling fanatics. But I have no problem seeing Mubarak sitting next to him.

But it is true, the attack did not influence western opinion much. I didn't even remember it happened. For me it was part of the 'shit happens' during revolts.

i am not sure what you're trying to say but in my estimation church's are usually aligned with the regime. mubarek obviously did not build up enough loyalty or bribe the church's enough. he probably didn't think he had to.

Hi, obviously you didn't read everything so I clarify before we're getting totally off track here.

The church bombing I'm talking about happened in Alexandria during New Years Mass, so Jan. 1, 2011. 21 people died and over 70 were injured.
The former Interior Minister had 22 police officers, criminals with ties to terrorist groups and drug dealers ready to cause any kind of unrest or attack should the Regime be in trouble. They did this in order to gain backing and sympathy of the international community.
The former Interior Minister instructed one of his officers and a criminal who was in prison for 11 years to contact a islamic terrorist group to "Discipline the Copts" as he called it. The plan was made, the guy found somebody from a islamic group called Jundullah who would drive a car with explosives in front of the church. The egyptian officer then said would detonate the bomb, and he did so before the guy from the terrorist group get out of the car.
The Regime then arrested the other 2 guys who helped in the plot and threw them back into prison. During the Demonstrations they did another attack...but on the people. They instructed all police to leave their posts, open the prisons and let the criminals run free with their weapons to kill, loot and do whatever they want. They also let go of these 2 guys of course in the chaos, and they ran to the UK embassy where they told the story. UK Intel has investigated and found everything true what they said and there are currently more probes into the Ministry of Interior.
I wouldn't be surprised if all previous attacks were also from the Regime. Just to keep them in power...

I hope this clarifies it now for you. I guess you are referring to a church that was set on fire near the Israel border...those were of course also saboteurs from the Regime. Desperate attempts during this Revolution to cause chaos to discourage and scare the people.
