A 100,000 in aviation fuel, thousands of hours in training, just to flyover a fucking college football game. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1290515I'm with you! Why should we the tax payers pay for this shit. Is that what we are training our military to do? fly over football games? |

Or it was when we were. Lighten up, Ferris. Wish it had been the B-1's from Missouri, even better. |

That is the sound of freedom. Or it was when we were. Lighten up, Ferris. Wish it had been the B-1's from Missouri, even better. That is the sound to show you who's in control! Many Senior citizens can not even get their social security and yet we can afford to fly over football stadiums! Many of the soldiers over seas can't get the equipment they need Yet we can afford to fly over football stadiums! Our Roads are falling apart, schools are going to shit, and our govt. is in dept to it's eyeballs yet we can afford to fly over football stadiums! And now we just wasted money on a good pilot because of it. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1220916 United States 04/02/2011 01:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Flight rules exist for a reason. If not the safety of the aircraft and pilots, but for the spectators on the ground. The willful violation of those rules is an act of defiance, not heroism. By his action, the lead pilot did so with knowledge of the consequences of said such action, and his wing also did knowingly follow his lead knowing that they were not only in violation of FAA rules, but Air Force rules instituted after a very tragic accident which caused the lost of an aircraft, and but for the actions of the pilot, many people on the ground. His wings are welcome back in the locker. We need combat pilots, not idiots, on the controls of a 200 million dollar fighter such as the F-22. (in this case 26 million dollar F-16C). Sad to see him go - but he knew the rules, he violated the rules, and he must own up to the consequence of breaking those rules. Luckily, no one else suffered on the ground because of his dereliction of duty. |

If they were given permission to fly over the stadium then the responsibility falls on the persons that made THAT decision. |
