ALERT !** Grape tomatoes recalled in Canada and U.S after salmonella found **

OTTAWA - An Ontario produce company is warning Canadians not to consume some grape tomatoes because they may be contaminated with salmonella.
Mastronardi Produce of Kingsville, Ont., says people should not eat Field & Farm brand, grape tomatoes, 1 pint; and, Compliments brand, Santalina Grape tomatoes, 280 grams.

The company took the action after they were notified by a Florida supplier about one lot of tomatoes that was later determined to be contaminated with salmonella anatum and recalled in the U.S. The Farm & Field product was distributed in Ontario by Metro Ontario.

The Compliments product was distributed by Sobeys in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec.

The Field & Farm brand Grape Tomatoes 1 pint clamshell package have a UPC code of 0 33383 65585 7 40398.

Compliments brand Santalina Very Sweet Grape Tomatoes 280 g clamshell package with a UPC code of 0 68820 12262 3 40664 in Quebec and 40640 & 40664 in Atlantic Canada.
