Yeah... it only got up to 59 today here in North Carolina... which is significantly below normal... but in a few days it's forecast to get up to 88/89, and stay there for days on end... which is significantly above normal... I give up.

Weather patterns are like mixing spray paint in the open air "completely unpredictable", and random in application..

Weather is a prediction of "change" not a prediction of what will "be"..

If Florida is getting cooler weather, this needs to be repeated more then once, more then twice, and even more then thrice, to be considered more then an "anomaly"..

Let's see a repeatable "pattern" before sounding a bell of doom.popcorn

We're in for another set of heavy rains the likes of which we're unaccustomed. Major floods still to come.

Holy shit. Look at this water vapor loop. Never have I seen this

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1351243

Something like this occurred last winter around the latter part of December if memory serves me correctly. The jet stream retrograded back into Canada from Greenland.

There have been many pollen count studies done across the globe for paleoclimate research. During ice age conditions, its been demonstrated that Northern hemisphere wind patterns at the high and mid latitudes reverse.

As an example, NYC now has a prevailing jet stream pattern from West to East, during times of glaciation, this reverses and generally flows from East to West.

What isn't widely known about ice age climate models is that it isn't solely based on temperature. It's also based on precipitation. For the glaciation process to begin, there must be enough snowfall during each winter season to last through the summer. From what I understand, this begins at the higher elevations with seasonal snowfall rates from 70-100 feet. We're beginning to see an increase in precipitation now.

Another thing about precipitation and global warming. Precipitation [edit]isn't[/edit] solely based on temperature. There must be enough source particles in the atmosphere for water to condense around. In laymen terms, dust. It's somewhat of a mystery at this point where the dust is actually coming from. One theory is that it's coming from space.

[link to science.nasa.gov]

From what I can tell, the Earth is heading into a cooler period. And please take note, most of the ground based temperatures for the past 30 years have been taken from less than ideal circumstances, I.E. cities. Cities are known heat islands and do not reflect the larger regional mean temps. On any summer day, just take a drive from any city to the surrounding rural areas. There is a very drastic temperature difference during day and night hours.

[edit]jeez, I goobed up this post lol, shouldn't write posts upon first waking up.[/edit]

lol

It's may. You guys are talking about night time vs. daytime temps? "it will be 55 tomorrow" (that's the night time temp though), and "but a few days later, it will be higher than average" (quoted from one of the replies)

The point I'm making is that you're in Tampa. You're right near the gulf of mexico, which has a certain temp. At night, if it isn't completely overcast, the heat rises from the land, and if there's any wind, it affects the local temp based on the temp of the water.

Dare to compare?
Here:
[link to www.climate-zone.com]

Average May max is 87.2
Average May minimum is 67.5

The thing about averages is that they take a whole slew of history and construct averages based on the history. It would take many years to raise the average because of all the prior history of florida (though this really goes for anywhere that records the weather).

Averages are the total of the units added together divided by the number of units (in this case, the number of days, both the highs and the lows)

ie:
40 degrees at night, 80 degrees in the day
50 degrees at night, 90 degrees in the day
55 degrees at night, 75 degrees in the day

this would average to:
145/3 degrees at night and 245/3 in the day
48.3 degrees at night, 81.7 degrees in the day

Oddly enough, even with that average, there were days that had higher and lower aspects of both the highs and lows.

I used to eat at Acropolis down in Ybor in the evenings and enjoy smoking hookah. Even in more decent months it could get relatively chilly when the sun went down.

Tomorrow the low is set for 69 degrees, which for SFL, is cold, I guess.

Need to correct this but the edit time ran out before I could change it. What I meant to say, all the needed source particles can not be accounted for within the Earth's own system.[edit]edit time, lol. Was 1/2 asleep when writing this stuff.[/edit]

There is a very distinct relationship between the amount of annual precipitation the Earth receives and the amount of dust that is produced from dryer areas.

It should be noted that North America isn't the only place to receive large snowfall rates. North Japan had record snowfall totals last December in places. We're talking about 100+ feet of snow here, not just a few hundred inches.

Australia seen early summer snows in NSW.

This is also occurring in South America. So please do some research into what is being pushed by the main stream media in regards to the truth about "Global Warming".

Ocean cooling going too.

Found a clip from last December of the jet stream in retrograde over Canada last December.

So here is evidence to those that say show a repeatable pattern.

This type of jet stream pattern is what might be typical during an ice age model. (or perhaps something similar to this)

Take it up with the weathermen and/or weather stations. We don't control which systems are used for reporting temperatures as well as for temperature forecasts. No US citizens on this thread are going to change their thought process for one or two complaining UK persons.

No offense, but it really is just a method of measurement. It really shouldn't be causing you any butthurt. Celsius and Farenheit are so directy related that* Kelvin is actually the best form of measuring heat, which is the only SI unit, but you don't see me going around complaining the UK people need to get with the program and measure in Kelvin.

I could use some of that global warming right now! We moved to FL in 2007 for the weather and this past winter was the only one that wasn't terrible. The three prior winters were almost just like living up north but without the snow.

Yep, still been cold here in Colorado with a lot of rain, rain/snow mix in Denver metro area. Another big storm coming in later today bringing more rain and cold with another foot of snow for the mountains.

"DENVER - A powerful spring storm spinning to the west sent a weak weather disturbance across northern Colorado Tuesday and the Colorado weather forecast shows more rain is on the way.

Scattered light showers were reported in Denver with severe storms northeast of the city out on the plains. Several tornadoes were reported in Washington County along with large hail and damaging winds in Morgan County and Yuma County. That line of storms is moving into Nebraska and Kansas overnight.

More rain is on the way Wednesday, especially in the late afternoon and during the evening as the slow moving storm digs into the desert southwest, according to 9NEWS Chief Meteorologist Kathy Sabine.

Kathy says the rain will continue into Thursday, though the rate of rainfall will be lighter than what we'll see Wednesday evening.

Showers and thundershowers are possible through part of the day Friday before the weather improves in time for the weekend."

Everything is fucked, it rains everday here in Va., the storms are coming from the east, and it's in the lower 40's. Either the jet stream has shifted big time, or the weather weapons are in play.
