Sorry...I like him too.....but his Foreign Policy crap is making me nuts.

Okay, I understand your perspective. I like his foreign policy. It is exactly what the founding fathers advised, with good reason. It is Constitutional.
It is how this country ran, and ran well, before Bush 2 and the Patriot Act.
And, it was our safety and security. That all nations knew we would not make wars of aggression against them. They also knew that our military was equipped with high quality weapons in EXCELLENT condition, with well educated, highly trained & skilled personnel.
Those countries, all countries knew that the United States had the kind of financial wealth that we could sustain and fund a real war.
We had prosperity.

What those other countries know now is that the US is an aggressive war monger, and can't be trusted. That makes us very UNsafe and NOT secure.
What they also know, and this is key, they also know that the troops are over extended and physically exhausted. They know that the equipment is old, and worn.
They know that the US is broke, and can't afford to replace that equipment, and can barely afford to do maintenance on it.
And, they know there is no manufacturing base to build it back, and no country that will loan us money to build it back.


Now, Ron Paul wants to get us back there, when we were known for our non aggressive stance on war. Back to respecting Congress as the governmental body with the power to make war.
That is where 99% of Americans want to be also. We can not afford this empire that someone else is building on our backs. We are not a warlike people.

Ron Paul can make us respected again as a peaceful nation, trusted again. That heals our status on the world stage.
Those policies of non-intervention, bringing the troops home, give our military personnel time to heal also,.
That provides the money in the military budget to rebuild the aging equipment, which would ramp up manufacturing providing jobs, new revenue, and would add to the GDP.

It would go a long way to fixing the economy and the problem of an exhausted unfundable military. Then, we could replace the war chest,just in case. And, just in case, our military would be again be well equipped with new top of line weapons and equipment, with a fresh well trained, educated, physically ready force, if needed.
Many of those now stateside troops could protect our borders, help rebuild our infrastructure, bridges, dams.
We would have the money and man power to do it, if we just get out of every one else's business and mind our own.

...but he is just not being realistic with thinking we can just REMOVE OURSELVES from the EQUATION militarily and that the Middle East nuts (or elsewhere) won't come after us.
Some retaliation potentially for decades of interference.....others just because they will perceive the USA as weak....all highly probable.
The comments he made about IRAN were the final straw for me with him. You can't just "leave them alone" now (after all our Middle East meddling) and expect they will do the same to us. They now HATE US....and WILL try to get even.....and get even with Israel.
