Happy people hang out with other people. No, you are wrong because you simply did not understand what Sartre meant. Too subtle for you, I guess. This was not the statement of a man who hated company! It was a deep, philosphical statement about the existential fact that people - whoever they are - force you by their very existence in your consciousness to exist for them, i.e., to become an object to yourself, thus denying you the freedom to be yourself. Insomuch as hell represents the state of imprisonment or loss of freedom, the very existence of others destroys your freedom to choose or define your being. Hence other people are hell. |

Happy people hang out with other people. It isnt normal to be an introvert. Maybe you need ritolin or some other medication to make you feel happy being social and going along with the crowd.... Here, take this, and you will be happy! You do want to be happy...don´t you? Your children should also take this medication so that they grow up to be fine, happy citizens. You DO want your children to be happy citizens....don´t you? |

Happy people hang out with other people. Two American psychologists studied hundreds of students and focused on the top 10% "very happy" people And what the fuck constitutes a person being "happy". What kind of bullshit study is this? Lets all go out get drunk and party and fuck like animals .. then we will apear to be happy when tested ... but what comes after? |

Happy people hang out with other people. Two American psychologists studied hundreds of students and focused on the top 10% "very happy" people Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11585 They found very happy people spent the least time alone and the most time socialising. Psychologists know that increasing the number of social contacts a miserable person has is the best way of cheering them up. When Jean-Paul Sartre wrote "hell is other people", the arch-pessimist of existentialist angst was wrong. [link to www.timesonline.co.uk] no, they gossip and spread rumors and start fights and ruin relationships and people's lives and they usually only want you when they need something. |
