Sneezing at Roswell
Serious question....This last summer I took 2 of my daughters (13 and 16) on a "road trip of epic proportion". Our first stop was Roswell, NM. We visited the museum and bought shirts. It was lots of fun. BTW, it is really educational but is more like a science project exhibit, newspaper clippings, recordings of radio broadcasts, drawings, replicas, etc... The girls were excited though. Strange though was my physical reaction during the tour. I could not stop sneezing during the duration. I also started noticing a guy that stayed with us throughout the museum. It is a place where you just walk around on your own so as a Mom with my girls out on a road trip my radar was always on overdrive so I thought I was being overly paranoid but then I noticed he was taking pictures of exhibits from behind us, always with us in the pic. He never walked up and read anything up close, always kept us between him and the object of his camera. At the end is a recreation of an autopsy, we are all looking at it and I felt really sickened by it and said, you know, it just seems morbid, a recreation of an autopsy, of any species is just wrong. I then turned and noticed both my girls have tears in their eyes. We exited into the gift shop, bought shirts and I noticed camera guy is now in the exit area. Its like you leave the gift shop and walk along the building face along a glassed in area to the other exit door. So he is in there talking, we finish and we have to walk past him in this narrow area to get outside. He is still talking and as we are going past him he turns and watches us, nods and says "Welcome back ladies, enjoy your trip." Welcome back???

OK, I know I am being paranoid but you have to admit that was weird, we kind of laughed it off, made jokes and all as we drove over to our next stop, White Sands missile range. We checked into the hotel and the clerk guy says, "Hey nice to see you, been waiting for you, I saved back 2 sleds for you to take to the dunes." I am thinking my husband called them even though I made these reservations and only listed one adult on the reservation. So we change, go out to the dunes and spent the entire afternoon sledding and sitting out there watching the sun set. As we are leaving we actually got to see some military helicopters fly past. Later I talk to my husband and he never called the hotel...

We then drove past the giant array telescopes just in time to see someone dressed up in a blue body suit near one of the telescope get picked up by a jeep and taken somewhere. We of course pulled over and took pictures. During the petrified forest tour we had a park ranger follow us through the entire park, stopping where we stopped and giving us pretty much a guided tour. Then after lots of other cool stops, we get to San Francisco and check into our hotel only to find out our room for 4 nights has been upgraded free of charge to the presidential suite, complete with balcony facing the ocean...

When I get home I am telling my dad (who is retired high up military) about Roswell and the sneezing and his reaction is, "wow, I bet that got their attention". I was like, why would my sneezing get anyone's attention? He said no reason and changed the subject.

So after all of that I really just want to know if anyone has ever had anything strange happen while vacationing, especially at sites such as Roswell, and also, has anyone else ever experienced or heard of anyone having sneezing fits at those places...and why the heck sneezing could/would get someone's attention?

ps -- i came back to read this thread, very happy about it.

I have to say op, the "been waiting for you" part is the most odd.

I want more details, this is intriguing!!!

Re: Sneezing at Roswell
OP, the sneezing might be related to

1) someone (you) carrying a "foreign agent" and sneezing as a reaction. This would throw up flags.

2) possibly they are running some kind of experiment and people who have sneezing reactions are "of interest"

3) repetitive sneezing could have been (falsely) misinterpreted as a way to disguise other sisister body language/actions (flags again)

4) nothing, your dad was joking, and it didn't come across the right away, further making you more paranoid

I have thought of all of those. It still leaves me with wondering about the source of my sneezing, since I know I didn't have anything on me, nor was I trying to use the sneezing to hide body language, it leaves me wondering if something there caused me to sneeze. As far as I know everything at the museum is replicas, etc.. Nothing real. The experiment idea is intriguing, would that be like someone adding something into the ventilation system to see if anyone has a reaction?

The picture doesn't do much. All I see is a kind of stocky figure in a white T-shirt.

Can you provide a physical description? Any details that might shed some light on who he might have been (military haircut, tattoos, jewelry, mannerisms, etc)?

My theory so far: the sneezing was an allergic reaction to something inside the building (mildew, cleaning chemicals, dust...something that only seemed to affect your body chemistry).

The guy was just s creep who thought he was being sneaky and snapping pics/video of you and/or your kids to post on some pre-vert site online. Yes, this is actually done -- they follow girls around stores, malls, etc and just get shots of them for the other pre-verts to drool over. Tourist spots are popular because camera use is common.

As for the upgrade, well, that sounds like just a spot of good luck. I wouldn't mind some unknown cabal doing that for me. The clerk talking about waiting for you and the mysterious phone call, well...I don't know. Miscommunication, maybe, plus everything else just made it seem eerie.

I have been to Roswell and took the tour of the museum. You discribed it perfectly. There is a weird vibe there. The touristy alien shop on the corner really had some weird vibes. Did you go there? Did you notice there are only elderly people running these places? I can't say we had anything strange happen to us there. My sister is a "shotgun" sneezer, but not one came out of her face while we were there.

OK, the pic actually has me in the front with him over my left shoulder looking straight at the camera. My face is blurred out from the reflection, I think it was an areal view of the desert landscape or something. He is actually wearing a white button up with the sleeves rolled up. He had on black dress slacks and black shoes. He had a big black watch on his left arm, like a divers watch or something. He was probably about 5'10" and stocky, like a body builder where a button up seems too tight through the shoulders. He had a small black nothing special phone and his camera was nothing special either, small and black. He had short hair and was not with anyone that we ever saw.

You sneezed because they vibrated your nasal implant. You were identified and became a special guest. You have any missing time while browsing the museum.

You know you are right about the elderly people, they were everywhere running the shops, I just figured maybe they were the ones that originally opened them. lol We went into a lot of the shops but the museum is the only place I sneezed. I heard it was an old movie theater.

I took another look at that photo after reading your description. Not much to add or speculate on, other than a watch on the left wrist would indicate he's right-handed, for what that's worth.

Black slacks and white-button down might indicate he's gubmint, but with the sleeves rolled up so high? Well, it is New Mexico in the summer, after all....

The only other thing I might suggest is checking out the Roswell Museum website. There are tons of pictures, and maybe your guy, if he was just a staff member taking pics of guest, is somewhere in there.

There's even a page naming the staff, right down to the gift shop clerks. Just go to the "about" section or Google "Roswell museum staff."

Keep us posted as to any weird dreams, owls showing up outside your window, MIB's, rocks left on your porch, etc.

I came back here because I started having dreams about being abducted by the military, not aliens, the military...Very vivid, very scary, and they creeped the hell out of me. I kept thinking back about our vacation and thinking I was paranoid and it was triggering these dreams, but then in one of the dreams the "staff" was trying to inject me with something and I somehow got my left arm loose and was fighting back, this burly guy (they were all in hospital gowns and masks) grabbed my arm and held it down really hard, it really hurt and I could feel his fingers digging into my arm. the next day I noticed finger shaped bruises on my arm where he held me down.

So please, steal away and tell me what you know.

OP, this'll sound strange, but did either your or your kids have intense HUNGER within moments after leaving the museum. "Munchie"-like hunger that was more intense than usual?

"Missing time" will often have this intense and not-normal hunger associated with it after the incident.

It's also possible to lose a quarter of an hour during a missing-time incident and literally have no clue one's had the time "missing". Sometimes there's a slight, very slight, memory fog, like opening a door-memoryfog-entering the room. Practically unnoticeable. That slight memory of discontinuity, which "seems" like a split-second, with nor memories of disruption in one's activity otherwise is where the time has been taken/gone missing.

Hopefully none of this applies to your case, and it was strictly a matter of normal emotions and allergy to something in the building that afflicted you. hf

Well, we did decide to leave after the museum, we had planned on staying a few more hours and then getting something to eat there but decided to head out across the mountains towards White Sands and ended up pulling over and eating sandwiches from our cooler because we were already starving after driving just about half an hour. We sat there eating our sandwiches and were all wondering why we didn't just stay like we planned and got something there. It was kind of weird, almost like we really couldn't figure out exactly why we decided to leave, we just did.

Keep us posted as to any weird dreams, owls showing up outside your window, MIB's, rocks left on your porch, etc.

Steal away, I just want answers!

How do you deal with it and stay sane? I feel exhausted when I get up, I can't shake the memory of them, sometimes I wake up smelling and tasting this metallic taste, like when you have a filling at the dentist. When stuff crosses over into when you are awake, like bruises how can one keep thinking it was just a dream?
Bright One they called her, whenever she came to house,
the seers with pleasing prophecies, she charmed them with spells;
she made magic whenever she could, with magic she played with minds,
she was always the favourite of the wicked women.

Re: Sneezing at Roswell
Doesn't sound like the sort of "munchies" I was referring to, OP! Which is perhaps good news!

The hunger I was referring to would have been quite sudden in onset, no delay of a half hour or more, and it would have been of an intensity that was noticeable--literally hunger enough to eat the quantity of two meals in one sitting, wolfing it.

Very interesting thread here.

Hey, did the camera-man use a flash when he was taking pics of you/your's? Or, was the photography "flash-free"??

If he used a flash, I'd be wondering about there having been some induction technique associated with it. Any memories of a flash of his camera?
