I think so, but if he were to preach that in his day and age he would have been slaughtered before he got his foot in the door. Would he not? Would have never gotten anywhere, as the people he was preaching to and teaching had grown up in a world defined by Judaic laws. It doesn't take much imagination to get this....does it? The Gospel of Thomas and other "lost" or "hidden" accounts of Jesus are very, very different than the jesus presented by the Quran or even NT. I think those are false, and I think people will come to realize it one day. |

I worship the Most High God of the Hebrews through the sacrifice of his son Christ. Christ did not contradict the Mosaic law neither here, nor in any other instance....you need deeper study and meditation of his intent and will of his spoken words. Seek the Holy Ruach for perfect understanding. What he was trying to convey to you is not that "an eye for an eye" is wrong or invalid in any way shape or form. What he was trying to impress is the next higher standard that the new covenant brings. You can maintain the eye for an eye if you are not strong enough ......but if you have been empowered by the power he had - available to us through the spirit he left for us in his absence....you too can do as only he was able to....which is much more effective...especialy for overcoming Satan in this world. This is because this world has already been judged by his sacrifices....and he himself is coming to return vengeance upon his enemies....it is already complete....and the judgements for the evils in this world are at hand and forthcoming. |

The apologist will attempt to say that Jesus meant that this "eye for an eye" Law was intended for the Judges only, and not to be used in matters of personal revenge. However, Jesus does not specify this in his sermon. Jesus of the new testament, clearly states that if a man punches you in the face, you should let the man keep punching you in the face. The teachings of Jesus will get me beaten and murdered in society. I have a right to defend myself, and enact the "eye for an eye" law as long as I am doing so justly and fairly. The eye for an eye law is the law of Karma. No man has yet to give me a proper explanation or answer to this problem: Jesus clearly changed and destroyed the Mosaic Law. Changing the "eye for an eye" law is not a fulfillment in any way: his sermon is the destruction of Moses. I have come up with 3 possible answers to this philosophical logic-problem: A ) Jesus is the greatest anti-semite to ever live & Jesus is the Jewish Devil personified. B ) Jesus was misquoted, and his sermon was changed and exaggerated. C ) Jesus is a mythological story, and he never actually existed. Let's address A : I don't believe Jesus is the devil. There are many of his teachings that are great for Judaism. I agree with all that Jesus says except this part of his sermon. Let's address B : This is my best guess. We don't have official records like we have video tapes of Kennedy's speeches and official transcriptions of the Gettysburg Address. If Jesus is Jewish, he could not have said this. This leads me to believe in the Islamic Jesus. Let's Address C : If Jesus didn't actually exist and there was no Virgin Birth, then both christianity and islam are completely invalidated & Judaism is the only official religion of God. Option D- The "God" of the Torah isn't the most high and Christ came to lead us to the most high. |
