I think people will enjoy them though. Quoting: Chrit Nothing like a good 450 year old quote that is still true today. On the most exalted throne in the world, we are still seated on nothing but out arse. - Michel De Montaigne Who was he and why did he say this? French statesmen ahead of his time who is still read today. [link to en.wikipedia.org] One last thing, I do not use the net to find these quotes instead for the last 25+ years if I hear a quote I like I save it in a book. I know my book by heart and it's a LOT of quotes. Enjoy. Impressive. You always have good quotes. I struggle to remember one without looking it up. Like the one that says, in effect, the higher you are, the farther you have to fall. LOL. There are some awesome quotes listed at the end of the Wiki article. Thanks for sharing! |

This quote is over 2300 years old now. Hatred is never appeased by hatred in this world; it is appeased by love. This is an eternal Law. - Dhammapada The Dhammapada is a collection of verses that were spoken by Buddha himself & organized in to easily understandable book of verses. The name Dhammapada loosely translated means “eternal truth path or righteousness verse” or about 100 others things depending on the translator. I have a hand full of the 400+ verses I really enjoy. This temple still exists today nearly 800 years later. A single question drove most of his life “If Buddha’s of the ages are enlightened why did they seek enlightenment and engage in spiritual practice” If we are all born enlightened then achieving enlightenment through practice is flawed. He realized if you create a mystery out of the familiar then the whole concept of theater could be changed & change it did because of his teachings. In principle the idea he was conveying is to take something familiar and ask a legitimate question about a known item that changes the familiarity of the said item, turning in to something other than what it is commonly perceived as. This quote is a prime example of his teachings and philosophy. [link to en.wikipedia.org] Last Edited by Chrit on 04/23/2012 09:14 PM I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.
