Fruit is made delicious and nutritious so that animals eat it and disperse their seeds elsewhere. Much like a flower needs to have its pollen taken by bees. They are designed to be used by the bees and the bees are designed to be used by the plants.

I also read that certain spiritual groups can only eat what others give them whatever it may be.

But personally for me all life is sacred and equal so it doesn't matter what I'm eating animal, plant, insect.....
When my kitty wakes up I'll ask him if he's less spiritual cause god designed him to eat rats.

don't skimp on vitamins though. b-12 is a big one that apparently a lot of pure vegetarians (or w/e the ones are that don't eat any animal product) miss. b-12 according to the wiki is essential for brain function and DNA synthesis and is most easily found, sadly, in animal products. Conversely you could take a pill for it, but then you're just letting someone else take it from the animals instead of yourself, imo just shifting the blame like the Nazi's did :D

I have drastically altered my diet over the last few months. I also stopped eating red meat & pork. But have continued consuming chicken. Now debating about whether or not it's best to give up chicken as well. Still on the fence.

We were all hunter-gatherers once. There were never any such thing as vegan hunter-gatherers.

A well cooked grilled pork leg steak has less fat and more protein than chicken or turkey breast.

I'm not a vegetablist and I don't necessarily agree with the OP but that statement begs an obvious question. If we were to come in to contact with a higher life form would you be happy to become it's next meal?
