Toronto international airport to conduct emergency drill on Saturday (10/20)
Passengers flying out of Pearson airport on Saturday morning may be forgiven for assuming a crisis is happening.

The Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) will be carrying out a drill which involves a plane disabled on the tarmac and an evacuation.

“Please be advised that this is an exercise only,” the GTAA, which operates Pearson, said in a release.

Air Canada, Nav Canada, police, firefighters and paramedics will all take part in the exercise.

In 2011, 33.4 million people flew through Pearson, the fourth largest airport in North America in terms of passenger traffic. 4
