Toronto's Pearson International Airport to Conduct Emergency Drill Tonight | |

We run one full scale and one tabletop exercise per year to test protocols, procedures, communications and planning for emergency and/or security related incidents. Many agencies are involved in the planning and implementation of such as exercise. In this exercise, the scenario involves a security incident in Terminal 3. The simulation will include the evacuation of an area of the terminal building. Partnering agencies in this exercise include WestJet, Peel Regional Police and Canada Border Services Agency. Throughout the evening, passengers or meeters and greeters in Terminal 3 may see response activity and hear public address announcements that are part of the exercise. Please be advised that this is an exercise only. Volunteers and participants are welcome to use the hashtag #OperationYYZ for social media posts related to the exercise. I mentioned in another thread....I never really put much stock in all this "drill doom" that has been popping up regularly since I've been a GLPer....I used to think that if there really were a threat, it would impact all of North America, and not just USA. Drills have been virtually non existent in my part of the continent. Until now. North American-wide power grid "exercise". Drills - not just your typical fire drill, but including violent enactments and staged injuries - going on in public schools. Never ever have I heard of this, and I have been raising kids for 25 years. I'm beginning to think something is going down....they are preparing for something.
