Power Outages in Central Texas - Not buying the "likely cause" being told
Sure was a good training session for being prepared. Got to work, pitch dark in the office, searched for a flashlight, when found; the batteries were about spent, had to search for batteries, all while using the light from my cell phone. In a true CME blast even cell phones will not be available.

I find it hard to believe that dust build up on transformers caused this.....

Wow so dust and fog can cause a bunch of power poles to catch fire ? Yeah sounds strange to me.

Ok here in central Austin. That sounds weird, that so many power poles would suddenly go up in flames. Maybe energy surge of flare??

I live in this area also....yea there was no fog either. 95-100% visibility this morning.

How do random power poles in 5 counties spontaneously combust?

damned

Sounds like a targeted EMP.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

An EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) can hit on the night side of earth coming from deep space. This happend a couple of years ago, suprised everyone at NASA. It didn't cause any damage, it did cause much alarm however.

With everyone looking at our sun for CME's/Flares etc. I hope some effort is underway to detect these deep space EMP's.

That's one of the oldest lies in the books. Union electricians blame animals for their shoddy work but a power outage NEVER occurs because of animals.

Looks like you bought into that bullshit excuse long ago.

Here's an example. Military bases NEVER have power outages but they have squirrels, hawks, rabbits, etc..just like every other place on the planet. The one thing military bases don't have is union electricians.
