I use it for my drip pot Quoting: Dr. Acula But when I can I buy Mosaic International whole bean coffee from GFS (Gordon Food Servies) Its AWESOME! [link to www.gfs.com] Its fairly priced... There is a GFS store in Lexington, Ky I shop at when im in that town... I usually buy Kona or Italian Roast... Otherwise I buy Eight o'clock whole bean... Kzata Blue is good too... although to me its a wee bit expensive... but one of my Faves [link to www.trademarkia.com] I got a french press pot... that I use the whole beans for (I grind it myself of course) I drink about 50 cups per day... 10 cups to a pot... 5 pots a day... I LOVE me some coffee... Drink it black too. How much is that GFS coffee per pound? I may have to check into it, I like dark coffee as well. Kona is pretty expensive but GFS is usually 20 bucks a pound... last I got was on sale for 14... and the last time I bought the Italian Roast it was 10 bucks... Depending on roast you are looking at... and if its on sale around 10-20 bucks a pound... which isnt too bad... cos its really really really good coffee ...and 20 bucks is a whole lot of money to me... so i appreciate every dollar spent lol I'm a pretty picky coffee drinker and I LOVE it and they have several roasts to choose from. It is an expresso style coffee with a little bit of chickory ground in, out of a small packaging mill out of Tampa. You can find it in Publix. Dark Blue bag ~$4.98 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33025720 You don't need much, only about 3-4 TBSP flat and level for 12 cups of coffee. Use distilled or reverse osmosis filtered water for best flavor on any coffee. I can tell out I've been drinking coffee for over 41 years and this is simply the best I have ever tasted including the blue mountain coffee I got from Jamaica. ill have to try that one. thanks |

Coffee is many times better when it is ground just before brewing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33302996 I'm not a fan of Dunkin Doughnuts coffee... Unless you are eating something sweet with it... It goes really really good with sweets... Possibly the best with sweets... I like it with Bday cakes made with butter cream icing... but as a stand alone coffee... its not for me and it lacks in my opinion :( But if you like it AC 2996 thats totally cool!!! I just wanted to point out thats its a good coffee for sweet foods... which im sure it was blended that way on purpose. lol _______________________ |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 8260452 United States 01/30/2013 11:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Jaimaican Blue Mountain coffee is by far the best I've ever had. So damn smooth and delicious! Oh, and your coffee tastes like shit because most major coffee brewers have been secretly substituting out the arabica beans for the cheap stuff. It's become a big problem in the last year, it's hard to trust most coffee brands now unless you go for an expensive variety. But that doesn't bother me. I buy $40 bags of coffee and on a per-cup basis it's still only 2/3 what I would have paid to get a cup of coffee at your typical chain. |

My preference is for the brand they sell in the silver bag, with the cheetah on it. Decent price, very fresh oily beans, and not bitter at all. When we lived in texas Costco carried a organic coffee that had a name like Aztec or something, best coffee I have ever made. Could not find it in Florida and now live in NC, can't get it here either. |

Quoting: OVRANALYZE "Eight O'clock" "Gevalia" "Seattle's Best"... but it was bought out by Starbucks, so I'm not sure if it's as good as when I had it. I am always trying something different. Many times I buy coffee that's on sale at Marshall's just to have something different. I noticed that the finer the grounds, the better the coffee. Last Edited by nutmeg on 01/30/2013 11:44 AM |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8260452 United States 01/30/2013 11:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | starbucks coffee is the worst. you guys only think you like it because you're addicted to the insane amount of caffeine in their brews. they grind the beans up incredibly fine, like dust, to maximize the surface area exposed (i.e. more caffeine). It also comes out overbrewed and extremely acidic. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 8260452 United States 01/30/2013 11:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think I am a bit of a coffee snob. Follow briefs advice on the distilled water, unbleached filters, and grind your own beans. Makes all the different in the world. They make coffee pots that grind and brew but it seems to have trouble keeping steam out of the grinder and it gets all gummed up. We have a cheap stand alone grinder.
